The Hanminjok Hapkido Association/World Kido Federation's 2026 World Hapkido Festival and Championships is coming up later this month, and it's garnering significant attention from media outlets throughout Korea! The size, prestige, and truly international nature of the event has captured the attention of the Korean Martial Arts community, and there have been 11 articles published about our event so far! We're excited to showcase the best of what Hapkido and Korean Martial Arts has to offer!

Highlights from TEAM KMAC at the SoCal Hapkido Invitational. With 11 dojangs represented, the competition was strong and pushed our team to perform at a high level all day. Our students stepped up and showed the results of their hard work and training.

Competing across 4 divisions — including sparring, self-defense, and break falls — TEAM KMAC earned: 🥇 19 Gold 🥈 12 Silver 🥉 14 Bronze

I'm proud of everyone who stepped onto the ring. More important than the medals was the way the team represented KMAC. The future of Hapkido is bright and all the competitors at SCHI are helping lead the way!

It was an honor to welcome GM Steve Seo, President of the World Kido Federation, to Southern California this week.

As the son of GM In Sun Seo (Chairman of the Hanminjok Hapkido Association and World Kido Federation and a true pioneer who was instrumental in developing K*k Sool Hapkido and Korean Traditional Martial Arts as we know it today) GM Steve carries not only the history of our martial art, but also a direct connection to its training principles and evolution. His knowledge, leadership and willingness to share continue to help practitioners train more effectively while staying connected to the roots of our art.

I’ve known GM Steve for nearly 30 years and have had the privilege of working closely with him for the better part of the last decade. It’s been an honor to support his efforts in growing and preserving our amazing martial art.

Thank you for taking the time to spend with our students at KMAC. Experiences like this help inspire the next generation and strengthen our martial arts community.
