(All sports at the Chillicothe campus remain suspended due to budgetary reasons. All funding was suspended by the main campus in Athens.) OUC has a robust athletics program and fields women’s teams in volleyball, basketball, softball, tennis and cheerleading; and men’s teams in basketball, golf, baseball and tennis. The Hilltoppers compete against similar campuses in the Ohio Regional Campus Confe

rence. At the Chillicothe Campus, the athletic program is part of the overall effort to offer students a well-rounded college experience. Athletics provide an outlet for students and are designed to be a positive part of the students’ college experience.

In 1946, the Hunter Smith family donated the Adena estate to the state of Ohio, and in 1948, the first restoration of the house began. In the spring of 1953, Adena Mansion opened to the public. The second restoration of the mansion was in 2003. What was the estate like during those years of restoration and the years in between?
