My sweet friend Lana (in the orange) passed away a couple years ago. She LOVED going to the cabin with me. Her sister Kerri on the right loved it also. Before Lana passed I was visiting with her at Kerri’s house and I told them both anytime Kerri wants to go visit the property she can let me know.

I’m happy to say that Kerri is at the lodge now-visiting for a few days and decompressing from life! This place is a great way to do that and I’m proud to be able to offer this place to the people I love as a place to escape

So….Our pond has been slowly leaking for what seems like decades and we’ve always had to leave our well on to keep fresh...

So….

Our pond has been slowly leaking for what seems like decades and we’ve always had to leave our well on to keep fresh water pouring into it. Well after multiple well and pump issues I decided to shut it off and let the pond drain.

I remembered going to a lake one time where they used concrete bags as a retaining wall so we are going to do the same thing with our pond. We have to take into account turtles boring into the dirt and their nails scratching up a pond liner, so we have decided to go this route. We will be reinforcing it with rebar and placing some sort of rock or stone walkway around the edge to keep the wildlife from stomping the ground down and causing the ponds to leak over.

The concrete has been ordered and hopefully pond renovations will start next month

Had some friends down and they did some SERIOUS cleanup around the place. Hauled off some old blinds and debris. These blinds were present when my dad (Mike Lewis) was alive and they are old! He passed in 2009 and they stood the test of time for a bit- but need to be hauled off.

We have new blinds down there and will replacing about 2-3 feeders with m low profile ones as they’re easier to fill!

Takes a village to take care of this place and I’m sure grateful for mine

Keeps freezing when on high. Ac is blowing cold but not blowing hard on high.

Already called the local AC guy who came out to “fix” it but wasn’t fixed
