The 2023 Awards Banquet - Tickets on sale now!

It’s that time of year again when we recognize the finest deer entered into our record book from the previous hunting season!
I think all who have attended past banquets agree this event is a “must see” for the northeast whitetail enthusiast. This year’s
banquet will once again be held at the Knights of Columbus in Chicopee, MA. Everyone will agree this is a perfect facility
to hold our ceremony. The service, food, and accommodations are second to none. This year’s festivities will be held on
Saturday, July 15, 2023. Doors open at 1:00 PM. Ticket prices are $55 per person. Tables seat 10. If you fill a table,
the 10th ticket is free!
At the banquet, awards will be given to the largest typical and non-typical bucks harvested in 2022 with a bow, gun and
muzzleloader, from CT, MA, ME, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, and VT. This means if you or someone you know, harvested a nice
buck last fall, you have a limited time to enter the deer to be eligible for one of the coveted laser-engraved hardwood plaques
awarded to the largest deer harvested in each state. As in years past, we will also be recognizing the largest deer harvested
by women, teens and seniors. Deer harvested prior to 2022 are also eligible for awards if they are larger than any buck
harvested during the 2022 season. This is your opportunity to get your just dues if you are just learning about the club or
missed the cut-off date for the scoring period last year.
At the banquet, we will also recognize any new State Records. There have been multiple new State Records broken the past
two years. Needless to say. We are VERY excited about showing off these and the other huge bucks entered from last two
fall’s hunting seasons. This year’s Awards Banquet promises to be incredible to say the least!
All deer must be received by May 15, 2023 to be eligible for awards at the Awards Banquet. NO EXCEPTIONS
Banquet activities include a delicious multiple-course sit-down meal and computer-generated slide shows will highlight the
best deer entered into the club recently. On display will be more than 100 of the northeast’s best deer from the last two
years, plus a display of HUGE northeast whitetails all scoring over 170, with many over 200! You will not find a better
collection of northeast trophy deer. Our event will also include auctions, raffles and give-a-ways for various hunts from
around the country, Canada, Africa and who knows where! These top-notch hunts typically are auctioned off at HUGE
savings for the lucky high bidder! A current list of the hunts will be available at the banquet can soon be found on our
website. Also, included at the banquet are raffles and give-a-ways for chartered fishing trips, shoulder mount donations
from various northeast taxidermists, top quality wildlife art from world-renown artists, butchering services, top of the line
weapons and much, much more!
Please contact me immediately if you wish to attend, because tickets go fast and we want to make sure your ticket needs are
satisfied. There will be no ticket sales at the door. Tickets are $55 each. Make checks payable to NBBC. With your ticket
order, directions to the Castle of Knights banquet facility are on the back of the ticket. You can also order tickets online at
www.bigbuckclub.com.
This is going to be a classy event so proper attire is required please. No camo!! Coat and tie requested, slacks and a
golf/polo type shirt with a collar at a minimum.
Please note, any deer entered into the NBBC record book from June 1, 2022 until June 1, 2023 is eligible to receive
a beautiful 7 x 9 inch laser-engraved plaque recognizing your trophy. These are not the laser-engraved plaques we
give to award winners, but one with all the details of your buck and will be an eye-catching memento to hang on the wall
next to your trophy. These solid-wood plaques, a $63 value, will be handed out FREE OF CHARGE, at the Awards
Ceremony*. If you do not attend the banquet, they can be purchased, through me. Order forms are available on our web
site or enclosed order form. * Limit 1 free plaque per hunter at the banquet

This is a tough one to post, but due to restrictions from COVID-19 we have to cancel the banquet

We need our members help!!, the banquet provides 70% of our revenue and without we are in jeapordy of closing shop. We have been in existence since 1996 and we are trying to come up with ways to get us by till next years banquet, please read the post below and purchase raffle tickets and bid when we do our online auction.
Thank You in advance for your continues support!

Dear Valued NBBC Member and Award Winners

It is with a heavy heart that I must announce that due to the restrictions that the Massachusetts Governor has placed on large gatherings indoor or outdoor due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we will not be able to hold our NBBC Annual Award Banquet which was scheduled for September 19, 2020.

This banquet is the heart and soul of our fundraising efforts and allow us to publish our magazine, produce our record book every 3 to 4 years and allow us the pay our monthly bills. This banquet generates approx. 70% of our annual revenue.

Due to the unprecedented times we are in, our club, which has been going since 1996, is in jeopardy of going under. We are all volunteer nonprofit, so without our banquet, scoring fees and generous donations of our members, we would not be able to pay the monthly expenses associated with produce the magazine and the daily operations of the club.

The Board of Directors have been working hard to come up with alternative ways of raising the funds necessary to keep us afloat until next year’s (2021) awards banquet.

With all of your help and generosity, we know we can generate enough revenue to keep the club going, but only with the help of our members, measurers and officers.

For those of you who have already purchased a ticket to attend this year’s banquet we are offering the following options.

A- The ticket(s) you purchased this year will be good for next year’s banquet. You can attend for no additional cost. Any award plaque or entrance plaque (non-award plaque for entering a deer this past year) that you would have received for your deer will be awarded next year at the banquet in a formal presentation. You will have your picture put up on the big screen, with your stats, and the folks in attendance will hear about your buck.
B- Receive your plaque my mail. As a thank you for ordering tickets early, you will receive a FREE $100 raffle ticket package towards this year’s raffle/auction fundraiser to be held later in 2020 (see below). The $100 free raffle ticket package is good for every 2 tickets purchased. If you bought 4 tickets, you will get (2) $100 raffle ticket packages, 6 tickets will get you (3) $100 ticket packages, and so on.

You may purchase additional raffle tickets if you would like for the following prices

$10 - 1 raffle ticket
$25 - 5 raffle tickets
$50 - 15 raffle tickets
$100 - 50 raffle tickets
More information regarding to the date of the raffle, prizes, etc. will be released soon. In addition to the raffle, we will be holding an online auction with weapons, hunts and other outdoor related items being offered.
Again, I am truly sorry we cannot hold our annual Awards Banquet in 2020, but with your continued support and understanding we can keep the NBBC, which has been a large voice in the northeast hunting community by preserving, promoting and protecting our hunting traditions, alive and healthy well into the future.
If you have any questions or concerns please e mail me at [email protected] or call me at 413-519-2630

During these unusual times, the volunteers at the NBBC and NOF are doing their best to continue providing our services to the community. However, as you might imagine, state and federal government restrictions have impacted some of our activities and our plans for the remainder of the year. Here is our latest update, and please check back for additional updates.

Thanks for your patience, and stay safe everyone!
________________________________________________

Modified 2020 Awards Banquet Date
We have decided to move our 2020 Awards Banquet date from July 18th to September 19th, in hopes that any restrictions regarding state-to-state travel or event crowd sizes will have been lifted by then. For anyone who has already purchased a ticket, that ticket is good for the new date. We will be working on contacting those who already purchased tickets. If a ticket holder cannot attend on the revised date, we will refund the ticket fee. It is our intention to hold our full banquet exactly as we have in the past. However we are also making some additional modified plans in case there are still some social distancing restrictions that limit the size of the event, or limit travel to/from any specific states.

Deer Scoring
We have continued to score deer. However please understand that all of our scorers are volunteers, and any person-to-person contact for scoring is strictly up to the scorers discretion. If you and a scorer do decide to get a deer scored, please be sure to observe all the applicable state and federal guidelines during your personal interactions, and use all reasonable efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Events
Many larger events scheduled for May/June have already been either postponed or cancelled, because of social distancing requirements. However, all states have different restrictions, so some events, particularly the smaller gatherings, are continuing as planned. PLEASE contact the event coordinator prior to the date to determine if the event is continuing as planned. It is our intention to plan to hold any events that fall within the existing state and federal regulations, but of course things do change rapidly.
