Friday night at Gold Cup, I was walking down the turn 4 bleachers looking over at the grandstands for dad when something immediately caught my eye.
In a sea of people leaving, I noticed a hat. My hat. Someone at Gold Cup, one of the biggest races of the year, was wearing my hat. My heart immediately dropped. In that moment, nothing else mattered. I ran up to this man with tears in my eyes asking if I could take a picture of him.
“Living the racing life” isn’t easy. The financial stress it brings, the constant fight for confidence, the struggle dad gets put through as I wreck out the car for the 12th time. It’s. Not. Easy.
