The Chico Tarheels Basketball Family, established in 1997, is an outstanding skills-based program whose mission is to build positive self-worth and promote a sense of accomplishment by developing well-rounded young men and women who will not only learn the fundamentals of basketball, but also the importance of education, sportsmanship, teamwork, and good character. We operate with the understandin
g that no one person is bigger than the group. We assert that athletics builds character, self-esteem, and promotes cultural appreciation along with the understanding that anybody can become a leader. Chico Tarheels Basketball Family is the biggest AAU club in Butte County and the longest running club in the entire CIF North Section. It has produced more All-League players, more All-Section players, more Section MVPs, and produced more college and professional athletes than any other club in the North Section.
