Congratulations to Austin Barden, Jessep Macfarlane, Tyler Grenier, Nick Dahms (a.k.a. "Junior") and Logan Martin for making All-1st, 2nd and All-Freshman teams for the Southwest region!

Chico State has never had a First Team All-Region, as well as never having more than one person on any of the All-Region teams.

My coaching career came to a conclusion when the Chico State Men's Ultimate Team's season ended last Sunday at Southwest Regionals.

It has been 11 absolutely unbelievable years as a member of Chico State Ultimate. It all started in the fall of 2005, a semester after taking the Ultimate Disk class taught by David Janinis, I went out for my first Ultimate practice. And while I was a young and very quiet individual who only had mediocre athletic ability, I immediately felt accepted on a team made up of very unique personalities (to say the least). It was in 2010 that I transitioned from an injury plagued final season to becoming a coach of the team with Scott Burghardt. Ever since then I have been roaming the sidelines with my clipboard working to help Chico State Ultimate live up to its potential.

I have met a very diverse blend of characters that not only do I consider true friends, but also some of the greatest people that I have ever known. I am truly thankful to have been able to spend the last 11 years of my life being associated with this program. Not only am I a much better person for my time spent here, but I have also experienced the absolute best moments in my life. While I know that the friendships that I have gained will last a lifetime, I also know that my life will be completely different not being an active part of Chico State Ultimate.

I would like to thank everyone that has helped make my time as a member of Chico State Ultimate an unbelievable experience. To all of the families, friends, and fans that have come out throughout the years, thank you so much for your support, I only hope that Chico State Ultimate keeps your continued support through the years to come. To everyone that I have ever played with or coached, it has been a wild ride, and it would not have been the same without you. I cannot thank each of you enough for what you have meant to me.

Going into the NorCal conference tournament, we were seeded 6th out of 11 teams.

After an undefeated Saturday defeating San Jose State, Sacramento State, UC Davis and the #7 team in the nation, Stanford, we made it to the winners bracket.

Chico beat Santa Clara in the semis, and faced Stanford again in the finals. While Stanford got revenge on us and took first place, we defeated Santa Cruz to shred seed and finish in SECOND place in the tournament.

We have two weeks to prepare for regionals in San Luis Obispo. Hope to see everyone out in SLO!

Ohhhhhhh our ladies KILLING it! Great job this weekend, Chicas!

Coming straight from double-day practices last week, the Chicas turned it up to win 6 out of 7 games this weekend in Santa Clara! They were undefeated until losing a hard fought battle against San Luis Obispo in the championship game on Sunday. Way to go Chicas!
