For 25 years we have had the privilege of creating magic, memories and experiences for our campers. We would not be able to do any of it without our incredible staff, who show up everyday with smiles, laughter, and a dedication unlike any other.

We are fortunate, that many of our staff were campers themselves, returning time and time again to create new memories, experiences and stories for the next generation of campers. We are beyond grateful for our counselors, LITs and CITs who work day in and day out to make Kids Playing Camp one of a kind!

Dear KPC Families,

As I’m writing this, my heart is bursting—in the best way. Thank you. I’m so grateful for the last 25 years with you.

What started as me trying to create the perfect summer place for my oldest son—somewhere safe, joyful, and packed with good memories grew into a summer “job” I genuinely could only dream about. Over these 25 years, I haven’t just spent summers with my own kids. I’ve had the absolute privilege of spending them with thousands of children across our city, watching them laugh, learn, grow, and feel truly cared for because of the amazing KPC staff you’ve trusted.

And the sweetest part? The “littles” who once started in kindergarten are now Senior Counselors—leading the next generation with the same kindness, patience, and understanding that helped them feel confident as campers in the first place. That full-circle moment means everything to me. I’m so proud of them, and I’m equally thankful to each of you for trusting us year after year.

In 25 years, we’ve served more than 5,000 families across the Chicago area—and beyond too. I mean, families have come back from places like Arizona, Florida, Washington, and even Tokyo, Japan, because this place feels like home. We’ve counted over 37,000,000 steps, shared more than 100,000 popsicles and sweet treats, made s’mores on the sidewalk, and those frozen chocolate pies still get talked about like they’re the highlight of everyone’s summer (and honestly… they are). We’ve played over 60 different sports and activities, tried new adventures, chased childhood classics like Capture the Flag and Zombie Tag, and dunked so many counselors that I’m starting to lose count. And somehow through it all, we’ve built a camp where friendships last long after the last day.

Thank you for every hello, every smile, every high five and yes all the constructive feedback that made us better each summer. Thank you for letting KPC be part of your children’s stories—and for helping us create a community where kindness always comes first.
