A moment for the BAND this past weekend 👏👏👏

If you were in the room... You know the band was COOKIN all weekend, with both classic charts and some brand NEW original tunes composed specifically for Second City Swingout 2025.😍

Our final DJ announcement is a special one - Chicago's own !! If you've danced to her tunes locally or all around the Midwest, you know she never fails to keep the vibes exactly where you want them all night long. 🔥

"Sam Zorich hails from right here in Chicago, and is thrilled to return as a DJ at her hometown event. Sam started dancing in college, but has been collecting jazz music since she picked up the saxophone to join her middle school jazz band. After dancing for a few years, she built up the courage to put that collection to use and the rest is history! Sam has DJd locally and at regional lindy hop, balboa, and even s**g events around the Midwest. She’s still a saxophone lover at heart, and might be guilty of playing one too many Johnny Hodges tunes, but her main goal as a DJ is to play music that gets people onto the floor and keeps them there!"

We can't wait to have back in Chicago in June! Get ready for some killer SOLO classes with this talented artist 👀😍That's right! We're mixing things up a bit this year - each track will get a solo class lead by Tyedric as a part of their weekend schedule. Get ready to learn, grow, and groove! "Tyedric Hill is a traveling artist deeply rooted in Black cultural and social dance traditions. He explores their evolution and interconnections. Inspired by his ancestors, who found solace in rhythm and movement, Tyedric carries their legacy through dance, honoring the cornerstones of Black art: personal authenticity, community, hope, and dignity. Having trained under Sugar Sullivan, Ryan Francois, Chester Whitmore, and Latasha Barnes, he consistently draws back to authentic jazz as the foundation of modern Black social dance. He is proficient in various styles, from authentic jazz and Lindy Hop to hip-hop and house, with a focus on preserving cultural lineage and personal style. Tyedric’s dedication to embodying the soulfulness of Black history is evident in his commitment to passing on the legacy of his mentors and ancestors to future generations. He is a powerful voice in the world, using his platform to honor the past while shaping the future of the global community."
