3 main focus this year besides fundamentals

- takeaway - most players pull the club inside which is the easiest way to hit the ball, hardest way to hit it straight.
- transition - you do not hit the golf ball with your right shoulder (this maybe the hardest part to learn as it’s natural to use the right shoulder), right elbow most important part of the upper half of the body.
- Follow through - Most players hit up on the ball and or do not follow through - why hit the ball with 60% of your energy? You wouldn’t play any other sport that way.
- Don’t play golf with your arms/hands - no one in the world can so why should you?
-More to come, most just never been taught the right way to swing and most teachers make it way to complicate.

As the 2014 golf season rolls around, I have decided to start a page to give tips for the beginner, average, advanced and the low handicappers on how to become a better player. My goal is to be able to relate to all types of golfers and give people the opportunity discuss their golf games. Throughout the season I will break the golf swing down into 4 phases:

Phase 1- Fundamentals
Phase 2- Take Away
Phase 3- Transition to Impact
Phase 4- Finishing your Swing

I will also be posting about bunker play, short game, putting, down and uphill lies, playing out of the rough and controlling ball flight. The motto all top instructors in the world have in common is keeping the game SIMPLE. The next few posts I will be breaking down Phase 1 (Grip, Posture, Ball Position, and Alignment) so you are ready for your first bucket of balls this season. Feel free to leave a comment on here or message KPB golf if you want to start talking about your individual game or want to set up a lesson.
