In life, there will always be distractions - it’s how you react and respond to them that makes the difference.

The desire to compare yourself to others is always so strong, making you question not only yourself, but the actual path that you are on. The temptation to do it the way that everyone else is doing it is strong, but you need to stay strong. This is your journey, not theirs. You need to keep working, stay true to what you know, and walk your own path. Remember, there is only one you.

When you could be anything you want, always choose to be authentically you!! The world needs more authenticity and it needs you!!

Sometimes you chase the sunset and you win, and sometimes you lose 🤷‍♀️ that’s what happens as the days get shorter and the night comes quicker. Going to have to look at replanning my runs, moving their locations, or breaking out my headlamp …. only downside to country running is no street lights 😂 but it might just end up being a combination of all the choices depending on the day 🤷‍♀️

Day 6 - 6k easy training run 🏃‍♀️

The warm weather came back for another appearance… I was enjoying the cooler weather for running. Here’s hoping next Sunday is on the cooler side for the race but if not; it’s what it is!

I’m obsessed with the pocket hustle shorts paired with a Havana tank for my runs tho! Pockets have become a must as I have gotten so used to them that I no longer like running with my running belt 😝

Day 5 - brought to you my my daily steps

Yesterday was a day and a half… had planned to get out for an actual walk after work before I met up with my cousin and her BF who were in town, but I was needed to stay late at work and it went way later than we planned so it is what it is. I still hit my goal of 10k steps so it’s a win on my books!!

Day 4 - race pace training session

I’m loving this team challenge of doing 5k a day for 30 days. My run training days are easy with me training for the half marathon coming up quickly, the challenging part of this will be getting the 5k on my non run days (aka tomorrow 😝) and the couple of days after my half marathon. Day 1 of the 5k a day challenge - not exactly how I’d wanted to start this challenge, but when you have a day of travel you do what you can. The day started at 5:30am in the beautiful Salt Lake City, Utah then we had a 6hr layover at O’Hare In Chicago, Illinois then finally home to Ottawa at 10pm. So today’s 5k was brought to you by travel and wandering around airport terminals…. And holy crap is O’Hare massive!!! Not gonna lie, I’m definitely looking forward to my run tomorrow!!!
