South Side Irish Rugby South Side Irish Rugby Football Club
Established 1975 We are a member of the Chicago Area Rugby Football Union and the Midwest Union.

The South Side Irish was founded by Gene Moriarity in 1975 in the Beverly neighborhood along with the Kennelly Brothers Art, Joe and Kevin. Our club is a social and athletic organization which has grown from the initial 15 players to a club with thousands of past and current members. Highlights include a second place finish in Division 2 Nationals in 2002, fifth place in Division 2 Nationals in 2004 and fifth place in Division 1 National Championships in 2006.

The return of whiskey tend to the southside is underway! That’s right your read that correct we are hosting our whiskey tens again this year on Feb 28th which will be held at Gaelic Park, we have both men’s and women’s divisions lined up and have some teams signed on. We are still looking for more teams to fill the brackets out if you or your team is interested please reach out to us in our dms! We are looking for both men’s and women’s teams!

Here are your awards for the season, we presented D2 MVP & BOTY to , D2 FOTY to Tj Lunney, and D2 ROTY to . On the other side our D4 MVP & BOTY is , D4 FOTY is Ed Waz, and D4 ROTY is Andrew Anaya. Congrats again and congrats to all the boys who played this season, who were at every practice, every game, and who supported the team through out not only this season but seasons pasts too.
