TBCA Community Statement
Date: September, 2025
Recently, very disgusting curses were sent targeting our families, mothers, and sisters. We don’t even want to share the language here; it was that shameful. This has crossed all limits, specially when some have targeted our mothers. Such behavior is absolutely unacceptable. Disrespect, abusive language, and personal attacks have no place in TBCA, and should not have any place in cricket anywhere in Chicagoland.
All of this is run by volunteers who dedicate their time, effort, and family time so that everyone can enjoy cricket together. To then receive curses and personal attacks in return is deeply hurtful and beyond disrespectful.
We also want to remind everyone that we have followed all established rules; agreed upon with all teams, well-documented, and shared long before the season began. Yet instead of respecting these rules and providing over 250 games per season, what we constantly faced were demands of “do this, do that,” demand after demand. Enough is enough. Rules exist so the game can move forward for everyone, not to be bent at the convenience of a few.
Whoever sent these messages: we are sure you are reading this; shame on you. To hide behind fake numbers and target families, mothers, and sisters with such disgusting words is not only cowardly but spineless. This is a moral failure of the highest order, and the entire community should see it for what it is.
We are built on values of sportsmanship, unity, and respect. We will continue to uphold these standards and ensure that our community remains a safe and positive space for everyone.
We call on every team, every player, and every supporter across Chicagoland cricket to stand in rejecting this behavior. Together, let’s keep our cricket community strong, united, and rooted in respect.
