April it’s an important month in my life story, marks 20 years since I arrived in USA.
Just a young kid who didn’t know that much English who moved to Chicago by himself.
I’m the proof that take risks in life will pay off with time.
Thank you everyone for the support during my journey!
America it’s the best country in the world and be a citizen of USA was one of greatest achievement in my life also!
Today I call myself an American by heart and a Brazilian by soul.
God bless America 🇺🇸

Growing up in Brasil every kid dream wanted to make in the soccer leagues.
Jiu Jitsu was already a well known martial art in Rio de Janeiro.
Was because of GM Carlos and GM Hélio work. But was not even 10% of the popularity that is today. Instructors that time all of them was doing because they love the art. Today people don’t even put their blood and sweat and tears to the art a they think they can teach Jiu Jitsu. See a black belt in Jiu Jitsu in the 90’s was not normal.
That person had to really commit to the art.
I’m very thankful that I saw those times!
I’m continue the mission and values was shared to me in Jiu Jitsu. Old school values.
Where Jiu Jitsu not only helps you to gain skills but built your confidence to face life.
That was exactly GM Carlos Gracie sr mission.
A real samurai live by their sword and die by their sword!!!

Most people see me today they have no idea how we work so hard to be here today. I came to USA I didn’t speak that much English I had 500 dollars in my pocket from a motorcycle that I had in Brazil the one of my friends bought from me.
No family, just me my courage and my skills.
I remember being a 19 year old and so scared leaving Brazil that my life will be changing forever.
So here we are today.
Chicago became my home!!!
I failed many times in this journey but I worked really hard also to win many times in my life.
Thanks everyone !!!
