"Effective salespeople are power-talkers!
Whatever the scenario, they know how to establish customer rapport, build trust and self-confidence, overcome resistance and objections -- and win sales.
But many salespeople, need a starting format to provide a successful foundation for customer interaction!
This is where pre-written sales scripts come into play!
BUT BE ABSOLUTELY CAREFUL! You do not want to come across as disingenuous or pretending to know less than you actually do!!
Many salespeople believe they won’t sound good if they read from a sales script. And I am here to tell you that is the case with all of us!!
BUT.........while I agree you should never read from a script when selling, a sales script can greatly improve your results by preparing you with the best questions and lines to say and ask.
First, let’s walk through the sales script creation process. You can follow this framework to craft your pitching strategy -- then simply plug in your unique value props into the template.
Here is a general list you can attack to create different scripts for your individual product lines:
1. Identify a product or service to focus on: reviewing your customer's interest level will initially help. If not, ask the right questions to determine this right out of the gate!!
2. Hone in on your target message!! You are selling Travel Trailers and RV'S!! You should know at this point in your career specific topics of discussion!!
3. Develop your benefits: the customer will come after you with everything they have to avoid buying! Keep moving to the close with SALES SCRIPTS (THE PLAN!!) Preparation is the key to closing more deals!!
4. Link your benefits to pain points: customer's have ALOT OF PAIN POINTS!! Know them! Learn them! Attack them vigorously!!
5. Ask questions about those pain points: Know SPECIFICS!!
6. Be quiet and just listen!! AND THEN......Just don't talk too much!
7. Always close!!!
