Earlier this month my brotha and I had the pleasure of issuing a black belt to one of the kids who made me fall in love with coaching.

Congrats .town.gugi on achieving your black belt and thank you for helping me grow the passion I have for coaching and teaching that started years ago and is so strong today.

If you don’t allow your students and those who are younger to teach you in things you’ll never grow.

I am soooooo proud of you and the young man you’ve become. I see me in you so much, trips me the hell out! 😂 You got the fight in you to strive for success, never give up or settle. It’s in your blood. I can’t thank the man upstairs enough for blessing me having you in my life.

Today I had the honor of sharing this amazing moment with so many great young men and women graduating from .

Many of them my football players and wrestlers who I will miss dearly and managers that there’s no way I would’ve been able to execute things so well over the last 2 years coaching with the Firecat Nation.

First and foremost I want to thank this amazing young lady for inviting me to graduation. It’s people like you that make working at a high school sooooooo easy. Graduating top 10 of her class and taking her talents to Rice University, Iris you’ll truly be missed not only in the classroom, but on the field and mats as an amazing manager.

To my athletes and managers, those who I saw and to those I didn’t see, it’s been a honor coaching you and truly know you’ll do great things in your next chapter. To other students and athletes that I’ve met in passing or just showing support to their fellow firecats, I can say with confidence that this group of young men and women have much more than potential (my players know what my definition of potential is lol) and I can’t wait to hear about all of your future success…

Now go and be GREAT!

Today finally caps off an end to a great season for our Firecat Wrestlers. 4 months of grinding through practices, meets, and tournaments comes to a close.

To my 7 graduating seniors, I can’t thank you guys enough for your dedication and commitment to the program. Especially you guys making trips around the state to support some of your teammates in our recent tournaments towards the end of the year.

Special thanks to and for sharing your facilities with us for the course of the season as well as my man UICCP AD for all your help with the wrestling program while making things happen for the other winter sports this year.🙏🏾

If you’re not in a spring sport, there’s plenty of wrestling to get into as wrestling is a year round sport… especially if you want to improve. So to my underclassmen, see you on the mats next year ✌🏾
