We used Google's MediaPipe pose estimation to build a real-time bike fitting tool. Point a phone camera at a rider from the side and it automatically tracks joint angles, body position, and counts pedal rotations through the video. No sensors, no expensive equipment.
The rotation tracking works by watching the knee's vertical position over time. Each pedal stroke creates a wave pattern, and by detecting the peaks we can calculate cadence straight from the video.
