An unofficial online petition calling for Argentina to be permanently barred from future FIFA World Cups has ended, displaying a final count of 28,997,266 supporters.
The โ€œArgentina Outโ€ campaign, launched by fans with no official ties to FIFA, accused the governing body and match officials of repeatedly favouring Lionel Messiโ€™s side. It also criticised Argentinaโ€™s conduct throughout the 2026 tournament.
Anger surged after Argentinaโ€™s 1-0 extra-time defeat to Spain in the final, which was followed by chaotic scenes and confrontations after the final whistle.
Organisers of the petition have acknowledged that the figure shown on the website was a display counter rather than an independently verified tally of genuine signatures. Because the campaign had no formal connection to FIFA, it carried no authority to exclude Argentina from any competition.
FIFA has disregarded the demand, and there is currently no indication that Argentina faces any ban from future World Cups.
The episode nevertheless highlights the intense polarisation Argentinaโ€™s 2026 campaign provoked among football supporters worldwide.

Spain Battles Major Wildfires as Thousands Flee Near Madrid and Valencia
MADRID โ€” Spain is facing one of its most severe wildfire crises in recent years, with large blazes forcing tens of thousands of people from their homes and prompting the countryโ€™s first national wildfire emergency declaration.
Fires west of Madrid and in neighboring รvila province have scorched tens of thousands of hectares. Hundreds of firefighters, coordinated by the Military Emergency Unit, are working to prevent the blazes from merging. Officials have described the situation as unprecedented, with strong winds complicating containment efforts.
In eastern Spain, a major fire in Castellรณn province has grown beyond current firefighting capacity, according to the Valencia regional government. Evacuations there number in the thousands. At least two people have died in the recent fires in the Valencia region.
Prime Minister Pedro Sรกnchez said the priority remains saving lives and protecting populated areas. The fires form part of a wider European outbreak fueled by extreme heat and dry conditions.
Authorities urge residents in affected zones to follow official instructions and avoid high-risk areas.

Argentinaโ€™s players turned a World Cup final defeat into a physical confrontation.
A petition calling for a permanent World Cup ban on Argentina has gathered 23.3 million signatures โ€” falling just over one million short of a Guinness World Record. The campaign claims FIFA and referees favoured Argentina throughout the tournament. This petition is separate from FIFAโ€™s official disciplinary proceedings.
FIFA has opened a formal disciplinary case into the ugly post-match scenes that involved several players and team staff.
Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 in a tense extra-time final, ending the South Americansโ€™ title defence.
During the chaos, Leandro Paredes clashed with Spainโ€™s Eric Garcรญa and Gavi. FIFA will now decide whether to sanction individual players, coaches, or Argentinaโ€™s football association.

New intelligence reports indicate that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched a broader retaliatory operation than previously disclosed, targeting U.S. military installations across five Middle Eastern countries.

According to the reports, the strikes extended beyond Qatar and included attacks targeting U.S. logistics and naval refueling facilities in Oman, as well as Prince Hassan Air Base in Jordan.

Iran also claimed that the operation successfully destroyed U.S. MQ-9 Reaper drone shelters at Prince Hassan Air Base, though the claim has not been independently verified or confirmed by U.S. officials.

If confirmed, the operation would represent one of the most geographically extensive Iranian strikes against U.S. military assets in the region, highlighting a significant escalation in the ongoing confrontation between Washington and Tehran.

Devastating update from Venezuela ๐Ÿ‡ป๐Ÿ‡ช

The death toll from Wednesdayโ€™s twin 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes near Caracas continues to rise. Officials have confirmed at least 188 people dead, with hundreds still trapped under rubble and 1,000+ injured. Some estimates warn the toll could reach around 235 or higher as rescue teams reach the hardest-hit areas.

A massive rescue effort is underway in La Guaira and across northern Venezuela. Emergency crews are working nonstop โ€” using power tools, search dogs, and their bare hands โ€” to pull survivors from collapsed buildings. Three children were pulled out alive in La Guaira Thursday, but thousands of families are still waiting for news.

Over 250 buildings are damaged or destroyed. Hospitals, schools, and even the Red Cross HQ were hit. The US, UN, Mexico, France and Germany are sending aid, rescue teams, and $150M+ in relief.

Our thoughts are with everyone affected. If youโ€™d like to help, international aid groups including the Red Cross and UNICEF are coordinating relief on the ground.

JD Vance delivered a blunt warning to Israeli leaders, making it clear that attacking Donald Trump politically may be a serious mistake.

According to Vance, Trump is one of the only major world leaders still openly sympathetic to Israel at a time when global opinion has sharply turned against it. His message was simple: if Israelโ€™s government has one powerful ally left, it should think very carefully before publicly turning on him.

Vance said Trump had grown frustrated after diplomatic progress was repeatedly disrupted by Israeli strikes in civilian areas of Beirut. He also warned Israeli officials against attacking the Iran memorandum of understanding signed by Trump, suggesting that open criticism could further damage Israelโ€™s position.

The statement stood out because it was not coming from a critic of Israel, but from the U.S. vice president himself. His message to Israeli leadership was direct: do not take Americaโ€™s support for granted, especially when the rest of the world is already moving away.

Trump Returns to the Octagon: A Historic Night at UFC 327
In a moment that captured headlines across the nation, former President Donald Trump made his highly anticipated return to live sports at UFC 327, held at the Kaseya Center in Miami on Saturday, April 11, 2026. This appearance marked his first sporting event since the outbreak of the Iran conflict, making his presence at the sold-out arena all the more significant.

The former president arrived at the venue shortly after 9 p.m., entering to thunderous applause from enthusiastic fans who erupted in raucous cheers. Trump responded with his signature energy, pumping his fist, smiling broadly, and waving to the crowd before taking his seat alongside UFC CEO Dana White. He was joined by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, family members including Kai Trump, and U.S. Ambassador to India Sergio Gor. Trump made sure to greet Joe Rogan, the renowned podcaster and UFC color commentator, before settling in for the evening's action.

Trump's attendance carried particular weight given his absence from major sporting events during the Iran conflict. He notably skipped this year's Super Bowl and the Winter Olympics in Italy during the fighting, with his last major sporting appearance coming at the College Football Playoff national championship game on January 19, 2026. His return to Miami's UFC scene comes just days after a ceasefire agreement was reached with Iran on Tuesday, prompting Trump to declare before departing for Miami, "We've won, whether you listen to the fake news or not."

The main event featured Jiri Prochazka facing off against Carlos Ulberg in a light heavyweight showdown. However, the evening was filled with memorable moments, including a spectacular performance by Azamat Murzakanov, who secured victory with a third-round head kick knockout against Paulo Costa. In a touching tribute, Murzakanov made his way to shake Trump's hand after his win and acknowledged him during his post-fight interview with Rogan.

Perhaps the most emotional moment of the evening belonged to Cub Swanson, who at 42 years old ended his celebrated career with a devastating first-round TKO victory over Nate Landwehr. Meanwhile, Josh Hokit emerged from a brutal "slugfest" against Curtis Blaydes with a unanimous decision win, with both fighters bloodied in what many called the fight of the night.

Security was understandably tight for Trump's overnight stay in Miami, with road closures affecting major highways including State Roads 836 and 112, as well as potential Interstate 95 shutdowns for the motorcade. The visit marked Trump's second trip to the Kaseya Center in under a year, having attended a UFC event there previously surrounded by family and Cabinet members amid chants of "USA" from adoring fans.

As Trump prepares to return to Washington on Sunday, his triumphant return to the world of combat sports signals not just a personal victory lap but a symbolic moment of normalcy returning to American life.
