This is a midnight thought and I need to release it,

It is exhausting watching people in positions they don’t belong in, while families are left sitting in the wreckage of systems that were supposed to help them.

Because somewhere along the way, we decided a degree meant more than doing the work.

More than understanding what it actually looks like when a child is struggling.

More than knowing how to sit across from a parent who hasn’t slept in weeks and say, “I’ve got you.”

And here’s the part no one wants to say out loud…

A degree does not make you effective.

I have been called into too many situations where families were already “supported”…
and nothing was done. No progress. No direction. No advocacy that actually moved the needle.

Just paperwork and empty space where support should have been.

And those families?
They’re tired. They’re overwhelmed. And they deserved better the first time.

Listen… I’m not against education. Not even a little bit.

But if your knowledge never leaves the paper it was printed on…

if you don’t know how to apply it, fight with it, stand in it…

then what are we really doing here?

Because this work?
This isn’t about titles.

It’s about showing up when it’s messy.
Giving families proper resources.
Providing real support.
It’s about knowing the system well enough to push back when it’s wrong.

It’s about heart, grit, and the kind of understanding that only comes from being in it.

Families don’t need perfect resumes.

They need people who will actually stand beside them and do the work.

And I’ll say this for anyone who has ever been overlooked because they didn’t have the “right” letters behind their name.

Your experience matters.
Your knowledge matters.
The work you’ve put in matters.

And the right families will always recognize the difference.

On Thursday, April 23rd from 8am-4pm STRIDE Learning Center will be hosting a Walk In Evaluation Day.

This clinic is for any child age birth to 32 months.

Stop by if you have concerns with motor, speech, attention, behavior, feeding, social skills, play skills, hearing, or vision.

The screenings, evaluations, and any services recommended are FREE to all families.

It’s that time a year. Parents are tired, kids are tired, school staff is tired, let’s keep our p**p in a group ok….and work together.

We have a few updates as we move through the rest of the year.

Over the past few months, I've been testing what is sustainable, what families need most, and how to structure things moving forward.

With that in mind, here’s what the remainder of the year will look like:

• All meetings will be virtual for the remainder of the year
• Hardship and sliding scale applications are now closed
• We will pause meeting attendance over the summer and reopen in the 2026-2027 School Year.

Updates on next year’s operations will be posted as I continue to refine what this work should look like long-term.
