Between all the customer orders I managed to mix in a new grunt call prototype. The design is a big open bore meant to be loud and aggressive if needed and easily tones down when finesse is necessary. This is a unique Wood… One of the trade names is called dragons blood burl (Huyet Longwood Burl) due to the bright red translucence when light is shined through it.

People always ask, and a few even complain, about why the bugles cost so much… This here is an example why. There are 7+ hours of work to get this raw chunk of Pacific Yew worked down into a final shape for finish work. It takes multiple steps of drilling shaping and fitting along with stabilizing any checks and filling any small knot holes and then reworking things down to make sure they are perfect. AAANND....There's still 2 to 3 hours to go on this one… That is why they cost what they cost.

Finished up this one off 250th anniversary call with the matching custom striker. This was a true one of one build and there won't be another one made. I really had not intended to build one, but with a customer backing out of the original call a quick little redesign turned it into a great collector piece
