The Three Rivers Chapter 16 youth fishing outing was an absolute blast!

We started the morning saying, “Cool girls fish for muskies,” and ended the day saying, “Cool girls win tournaments!”

Our 10 year old niece Eliza, was fishing for muskies for the very first time. The morning greeted us with rough water at launch, but the lake eventually settled down and gave us a great day on the water.

Eliza brought both fish in completely on her own. She stayed calm, listened well, and did an incredible job playing each fish to the net. Aunt Erin captained the boat, Uncle Nate handled net duty, and Eliza did the hard part.

Her first two muskies measured 39” and 45.5”… a pretty incredible way to start a musky fishing career. Those will be tough first fish to beat, but we have a feeling she’s going to spend plenty of time trying.

Watching our niece land her first muskies and take home the tournament win is a memory we’ll never forget.

A huge thank you to the Three Rivers Chapter 16 volunteers and everyone who helped make this event possible. Introducing kids to musky fishing and creating moments like this is what it’s all about.
