Pastime Louisville 16U National Championship Tournament Backyard Vanguard had a 3-2 record and played some great baseball. We are facing some high level competition this year which has helped us dig deep and find our best game. On to Atlanta, Georgia for the WWBA National Championship Tournament next week. Play hard. The Backyard Vanguard stats for the season are remarkable. With the team roll up results for Batting, Pitching, and Fielding being so high it’s no wonder they had a 28-3-2 season. What is not told in these stats is how long it took to achieve this. As Nick Seifried said to coach, “we haven’t won a tournament in two years.” When you lose…get back in the cage or on the field. Lose as a team. Win as a team. Play hard. Have fun.

The Backyard Vanguard 15U team ended their season undefeated 7-0 in the Atlantic Coast Louisville Slugger tournament today. They finished their season with a staggering record of 28-3-2 for the season, they brought in three 1st place medals, and one 2nd place at the Cap Classic, out of six tournaments. A big thank you to Coach Blum, the players, and their families. Play hard. Have fun.

Coach Don Nania showed up today to cheer on the Backyard’s Vanguard 15U team for their opening game at the AC Louisville Slugger wooden bat tournament. They did him proud by mercy ruling Canada’s Mississauga Majors 14-0 in 3 innings. The Majors were a nice team…great sportsmanship regardless of the score! Great to see Canadian teams in Pittsburgh!

The Backyard Buccaneers are capping off a stellar season by participating at the Cooperstown All Star Village National Tournament this week in Cooperstown, NY. With 3 - 2 record currently in pool play they’ve faced tough teams from all over the US (over 60 teams!), enjoying the Baseball Hall of Fame, hitting homers and making plays, opening ceremony, and making friends. Well done coaches and boys and a big thank you to the parents who made it happen! Go get ‘em! ❤️⚾️❤️

The Backyard Vanguard 15U team did it again, sweeping the NOS Rooster Rundown tournament with a gold championship win defeating the Garrett Timber Rattlers from Maryland in the bottom of the 7th. With a 19-2 season so far, two championship titles and one runner-up title, this team is not taking anything for granted. Play hard. Have fun.

The Backyard’s Vanguard 15U team absolutely dominated this weekend’s AC Battle on the Border tournament collecting a staggering 48 runs and giving up 11 over six games. Defeating Erie Steelheads 6-0, Flood City Elite 9-1, Pittsburgh Outlaws 7-6, Ohio Stealth 7-3, Ohio Glaciers 8-0 and Pittsburgh Outlaws 11-1. Congratulations on your tournament win Coach Blum and team!
