IDINKiCan Pickleball Pickleball Training & Media David Allen Ruth, known to many as “DAR,” is an author, coach, and passionate ambassador for the sport of pickleball.

With years of experience working with seniors, David brings a unique blend of encouragement, humor, and practical instruction to every lesson and event he leads. As the author of Fit, Fun & Forever Young: Pickleball for Seniors, David has built a reputation for making pickleball not only accessible, but deeply enjoyable for adults 55 and older. His teaching philosophy centers on three pillars: sim

plicity, safety, and social connection. He believes that pickleball should meet players where they are, empower them to move confidently, and create lasting bonds both on and off the court. DAR’s coaching style is patient, upbeat, and community-driven. He breaks the game down into easy-to-understand steps, always keeping sessions lighthearted while ensuring players build real skills. His signature approach blends warm-up exercises for mobility, practical drills that fit senior needs, and mini-games that spark laughter and camaraderie. At the heart of his philosophy is the belief that pickleball is more than a sport—it’s a lifestyle of vitality, friendship, and purpose.
