Heaven gained a beautiful angel yesterday. It is with a heavy heart that I share that Helena lost her battle with cancer. She is no longer in pain and has gone home to the Lord. She was an amazing, beautiful, kind-hearted soul who brighten a room just by walking into it. She was a great friend. I can't help but smile through the tears, as I write this remembering all the great times at the ol' Butcher Shop. We sure did laugh a lot. I know some of you have some fond memories of her from there as well and I hope they bring you comfort.
She made the most of everything she did and lived life to the fullest. She's an inspiration to all who knew her. I will miss her dearly.
Please keep her husband Frank and her son Dalton in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate through rough times ahead. RIP sweet Helena ❤️ Fly high my friend.

I had hoped that Two Doe's would reopen but due to the return of my cancer we will be closing forever. I really enjoyed all of our customers. Thank you for the many years of fun and hunting stories. Helena was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer 2 years ago. After multiple surgeries and grueling chemo treatments, she beat it...for a while. For sale. $350. Hobart meat grinder. Works great. Comes with stuffing tube, meat plunger, extra grinding plates. The case is busted in the back, but it doesn’t effect the grinding. Has been a great piece of equipment but I am down sizing my Deer processing so I have a smaller one I’ll be keeping. If interested you can reach me (Helena) at 219-406-8471.
I also have some large cutting boards and fillet knives I will be getting rid of if anyone is interested.

Ok I'm not going to do this in my fireplace, but it looks and sounds delicious. So I'll have to try it in the oven or over an open fire outside. Hope everyone is having a safe and successful deer season.

I have a hook set beneath my fireplace mantel for the sole purpose of cooking meat this way. The venison is suspended by heavy string from the hook, and the leg spins slowly while it cooks. I wanted to share this because some of my customers are very dear to my heart. I know that some might be upset if I didn't let them in on the whole story. Now that we have it I hope that everyone will understand more as to why I closed. Please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers as we travel on this path the lord has given us. The out look is a cure and very positive.
