This past weekend, 30 archers from OALC participated in one of the last competitions of the season hosted by the OAA (Ohio Archers Association), the Field Championship. The competition takes place in Ashland, OH. It consists of 28 targets on a 3.2 mile wooded trail. As a USA Archery (USAA) Club member, OALC hosts all of the virtual tournaments offered by USAA. Virtual tournaments give archers an opportunity to compete nationwide from the comfort of their local archery range. In April, 37 archers from OALC’s Nocking Point Archers Club participated in the USAA Spring Virtual Tournament. Our archers ended up with 23 - 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishes, in their respective classes, nationwide.

The Sunday before Memorial Day, OALC participated in the Ohio Archer’s Association’s Marked 3D Trail Shoot in Ashland, Ohio. It consists of 40 targets in the woods along a 5.2 mile trail. We had 25 students from OALC compete and 20 of them medaled in their respective classes (listed below.) Again, we are so proud of all of the OALC students. Congratulations.

Congratulations to all of OALC’s archers that participated in the OAA’s 900 Round yesterday! ALL of you did so well! Many of our archer’s took home medals too! We had 28 archers participate and 19 of them took home 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place. One of them, Nicole Clouser, took home Shooter of the Year for her class and the Super Slam Award. What a great day it was at the OAA 900 Round in Sugarcreek, OH! The weather was great and, for a change, not too hot! I’d like to first give a shout out to all of the OAA officers for their tireless hard work and dedication and the many volunteered hours they give to prepare for this event and make it happen. Everything was so well organized and not a detail was missed. THANK YOU .
