North Jersey Aquatics

North Jersey Aquatics NJAC is a swim school with small, customized programs for ages 3mo+. Focus. Learn. North Jersey Aquatic Club fulfills that role. Our philosophy is simple: Focus.

We offer learn to swim, parent/child, adult classes, competitive technique, and lifeguard classes. Succeed

Our goal at North Jersey Aquatics is to provide competitive swimmers with quality stroke instruction to augment their training regimen. Nearly every top level competitive athlete in other sports participate in strength programs, agility schools, and sport specific one on one coaching session

s. There is no place in the Northern New Jersey region that provides such a service specifically for swimmers. We also hope to extend our expertise in swimming instruction to include learn to swim and adult swimming lessons. Succeed. We will help build focus through personalized stroke drill progressions and swimmer-specific mechanic instruction. We will help the swimmer learn by taking their stroke mechanics down to their simplest form and discussing how our technique instruction actually relates to their stroke. There will be no gratuitous drilling at North Jersey Aquatics. We will help our swimmers succeed with our focused learning techniques. Swimmers will return to their clubs with a new sense of personal "stroke responsibility" and the tools to ensure that these skills solidify in their workouts. There are several learning environments that we offer at North Jersey Aquatic Club:
One on one technique lessons
Two and Three person groups
Clinics

Each environment provides different types of learning. Our one on ones allow the swimmer to work on very specific stroke mechanics. Our two and three person groups not only give the swimmer personal instruction, but it also teaches them to recognize mechanic strengths and deficiencies in other swimmers (which leads to "self-coaching" in their club workouts). NJAC clinics are perfect for the returning high school swimmer who wants to get a head start on the season or the club swimmer looking to refine their starts, turns, or basic technique. Our Learn to Swim and Parent/Child swim lessons focus on water safety and developing a life long love of the water. Our swimmers learn the basics of swimming in a way that will transition them into learning the 4 strokes, therefore promoting the sport of swimming at a young age. Our class sizes are small and the majority of our teachers have over 10 years experience. Many are even certified education majors as well! We are open for scheduling! Please contact Leighann Day at [email protected] for information on rates and availability.

Why do we repeat skills during swim lessons?

Because confidence isn’t built overnight—it’s built through consistency.

Every kick, every bubble, every back float, and every lap serves a purpose. Repetition allows swimmers to strengthen their technique, build muscle memory, and gain the confidence they need before moving on to the next skill.

At NJAC, we don’t rush the learning process. We believe every swimmer deserves the time, encouragement, and practice needed to truly understand a skill before taking the next step. That’s how confident swimmers become independent!

Progress isn’t about how quickly you move through our curriculum—it’s about building a strong foundation that lasts a lifetime.

One skill. One lesson. One milestone at a time!

Water Safety Wednesday

At NJAC, water safety isn’t just something we teach—it’s the foundation of every lesson we provide.

Every skill we introduce, every milestone we celebrate, and every swimmer we coach is guided by one goal: helping our swimmers become safer, more confident, and more capable in and around the water.

From learning how to float independently to building strong swimming technique and making smart decisions in and around the water, safety is woven into every step of the journey.

Because when safety comes first, confidence follows—and that’s what creates swimmers who are prepared for a lifetime in the water!

Confidence. Safety. Technique. Endurance.

These are the skills we strive to build in every swimmer who walks onto the pool deck at NJAC.

From a child learning to float for the first time to a swimmer refining advanced strokes, our goal is always the same: help each swimmer become safer, stronger, and more confident in the water.

Because swimming is about more than just lessons — it’s about creating skills that last a lifetime!

💙 Testimonial Tuesday 💙

At NJAC, our program is not just about teaching skills — it’s about building relationships.

We believe every swimmer deserves to feel known, supported, and encouraged throughout their journey. While skills and progress are an important part of what we do, the connections our swimmers build with their instructors are what help create confidence, trust, and a true love for the water.

"We have had an amazing experience with the team here even with some instructors moving on and new ones joining. All of the instructors got to know both my children and helped to foster and grow their love for being in the water while also instilling water safety."

Thank you to our NJAC families for trusting our team to be part of your swimmer’s journey. We are proud to have a team of instructors who create meaningful connections, celebrate progress, and help every swimmer become safer and more confident in the water. 💦🏊‍♀️

Water Safety Wednesday

When children are in or around water, every second counts.

That's why we encourage families to designate a dedicated Water Watcher—an adult whose only job is to actively supervise swimmers. Not scrolling. Not texting. Not chatting. Just watching the water.

Drowning can happen quickly and quietly, often without the splashing or calls for help people expect. Staying focused on the water can make all the difference.

✔️ Keep your eyes on the water, not on your phone.
✔️ Designate a Water Watcher.
✔️ Help keep every swim a safe swim.
