MML Online begins in a two weeks! We will work to shape our neuroplasticity- our nervous system’s ability to intentional intentionally change and refine our behavior and movement patterns. This is such a valuable skill set to work with as we age!

Each class we will connect to elements of our anatomy (bone, muscle, connective tissue), and processes of perception (neuromechanical motor pathways for muscle activation, feedback strategies for proprioception, and embodied attention tools for ease of coordination).

In the 6 week series, you’ll learn some valuable frameworks for leveraging neuroplasticity and safe movement learning as an adult. I’m so excited to share this material! Want to learn more about neuroplasticity? I’ll post an expanded version of this post in my newsletter! 💌

Registration for MML Online in my link in bio! Sliding scale pricing, class recordings available.

Your reminder that Stability ≠ Bracing.

For folks who find stability challenging, the experience of bracing might sound familiar. It’s an action expressed by a nervous system that is protecting us from injury or harm in a very “all hands on deck” kind of way.

It might keep us from falling apart under pressure, but it isn’t a sustainable strategy for managing the forces acting through our body. Especially when we want to feel grounded in our physicality and movement (an essential condition for growth).

To notice whether or not you are achieving body stability through a bracing strategy, check how well you can distribute breath and effort in the given scenario. See what needs to change in order to shift from protecting yourself from the moment to experiencing the moment.
