Daily Burn for Fri 7.16
Ok so hear me out: you guys know I live for endurance challenges, and what I’m about to tell you is a DOOZY!!!
I recently heard about a new sport, let’s call it a “Functional Endurance” type sport, much like Spartan Races, Murph, and Olympic Distance Triathlons. It’s called HYROX (I know, silly name, but so was CrossFit when it first came out), and it originates in Germany. Google it for more info, it’s pretty badass!!
Anyhoo, I am planning on training for, and competing in, the upcoming race being held in Boston in December! If you’re interested in following along my journey I’ll be posting about it as often as I can remember 🤣 and if you’re interested in competing yourself (there’s a team division!) then let’s get a conversation going about a group trip!!!
So here’s the workout I wrote for myself last night to simulate ONE QUARTER of the race, hahaha! I used an 18lb Rogue Medball, 55lb dumbbells, and an Air Runner treadmill. I finished in 32 minutes 😅. Every piece is scalable to your ability and equipment, just remember to breathe, pace yourself, and challenge where you can!
