Beginning this weekend, all WN Rec and Travel games played inside Chilled Ponds in Chesapeake and Chilled Ponds at Yorktown will be streamed exclusively on Black Bear TV.

Chilled Ponds @ Yorktown- What a difference a year makes!

The renovations at Chilled Ponds at Yorktown are nearly complete, and the results are stunning. Our existing skaters and families are amazed by the complete transformation that includes new lighting, colors, an open and inviting lobby, new Sports Bar and Grill (opening soon), new skate shack, private viewing areas, and a lake-front patio space.

It’s exciting to see the rink with a fresh, new look! The lobby feels more open and alive – we have all the amenities of a “big city” rink but conveniently located here in Yorktown!” says skater Allison Walden.

John Smith, Chilled Ponds facility manager states, “People walk through the door every day and stop in their tracks in amazement. I have been at this facility for 25 years and am thrilled with the renewed energy and enthusiasm I see being sparked in our customers.”

Chilled Ponds at Yorktown is now home to Whaler Nation Youth Hockey, Ponds Adult Hockey Leagues, Christopher Newport University and the College of William and Mary hockey teams, and Tidewater Skating Academy.
