I played professionally as a pitcher in the San Diego Padres and Florida Marlins organizations, and also in the Independent Leagues. After retiring from my playing career, I have been coaching and training baseball players, with an expertise in pitching.
I have been in baseball as a player, coach, and owner of a training facility for the last 25+ years. Professionally, I pitched up to the AAA level in both the San Diego Padres and Florida Marlins organizations, and I also played in Venezuela. I was a pitching coach in the Independent League, an Asst. and Head Coach for a Junior College team and I owned a training facility which housed up to 10 travel teams, Strength and Conditioning, and Physical Therapy. I have trained under Ed Ott - a World Series Champion with the Pirates, Mike Harkey - the current Yankees bullpen coach since 2016, Darren Balsley - previous Pitching Coach for the Padres Major League team for 17 years, along with 3 other high-level coaches with over 1,000 wins each and multiple collegiate and professional championships, including a Hall of Fame college coach. I myself have 2 League championships, one at the High A level with the Padres where we were also the Minor League Team of the Year and one with the St. Paul Saints in the American Association. Other personal achievements include topping out at 101mph, setting the AA Southern League appearance record in 2003, and being selected to the All-Star team when playing in the Independent Leagues.
I recently moved here with my wife and children and am interested in establishing myself in the baseball community, resuming both private lessons and small group classes. I specialize in pitching and throwing mechanics, arm care and mobility, but can also train athletes, both male and female, in hitting and fielding. I look forward to helping players in the area achieve their maximum potential and reduce their risk of injury.
Please contact me with any questions and to schedule a lesson. More information coming soon about group classes.
