Dear Parents and Student Athletes,

In light of the arrival of COVID-19 in Michigan and Gov. Whitmer's declaration of a state of emergency, Chesaning Schools and the Youth Sports Program regret to inform you that we will take the responsible action of canceling the spring and summer baseball and softball season. We are in the process of refunding the registration fees that were paid. You will receive the refund by mail sometime within the next two weeks.

Stay active, healthy, and safe! And we’ll see you in the fall.

We are in the process of refunding the registration fees that were paid. You should receive the refund by mail sometime next week.

As for the baseball and softball season we are holding off on making a decision until later in April. (Tee-ball, Coach Pitch, Minors, Majors and Jr. Pony) We will do everything within our power to make this happen for the kids. Youth Soccer and Flag Football season has been canceled for Pre,K-8 this Spring. Your registration fee will be refunded.

All Girls Red Cedar Volleyball games and practices scheduled in March have been canceled as well. The Leauge will be meeting later next week to decide if the games will be made up.

The Tee-ball, coach pitch, minors, majors, and Jr Pony ball season will start in May as planned for now.

February 29 was a busy day for youth sports, seeing the wrap up of Biddy ball, last home basketball games and the first ever home meets for our girls volleyball teams. Thank you to all the high school athletes that worked at the events, shared your skills and talents, and love of the sport with the younger kids. Your impact will live on in the pride you have helped to create in our younger “Indian Tribe. “ Thank you again for your passion and time! So proud of the young adult athletes at CHS; you fill my heart with pride! You have helped create a legacy of “Indian Pride”

You may have heard or received a flyer from your child in regards to the new flag football league that the MMAC league is starting. The MMAC is a league made up of New Lothrop, Montrose, Chesaning, Durand, Ovid-Elsie, Byron, Mt Morris, and Lakeville. The League is planning to start their own flag football league for grades 3rd - 6th. This new league would adopt the Little Warriors rules and regulations and would be run in a very similar fashion. With all of that being said, we still plan to run our Little Warriors League for both the P/K division and the 1/2 Grade Division as well. I will be getting more information out in regards to Little Warriors sign ups mid March. Please pass this information along as I know their was some confusion with the new league starting up. Little Warrior will be back!

Reminder Biddy Ball week three this Saturday, February 22, from 9-10:30 at the high school. Grades K-2 in Aux gym and 3-4 in main gym. Shirts will be passed out so your child can wear them for the last week.

Boys and Girls 4-6 Basketball will start Tuesday, January 7. Practices will be held on Tuesday and Thursday’s and games will start January 18. More detailed information after the new year.
