Hello,
Summer is in its last quarter. I hope you have had an excellent time enjoying the sun and long days. Fall is just around the corner. I am looking forward to the beautiful leaves and crisp air in the evening. I am also looking forward to training at Cherry Valley Springfield school. Classes start September 9th. This is our 30th year at Cherry Valley. Time flies when you are having fun. See you soon!

Today I was honored with the rank of 7th dan. Sensei Campos also presented me with the Bushido Award.
I would like to thank all who have accompanied me on this journey. I intend to continue on this path. I hope you will share the journey with me. I know that nothing is achieved without the guidance and support of others. Thank you Sensei Campos, the extended family of the Zen Do Kai, and my wife, Linda. I could not do it without you.

MESSAGE TO ALL OUR MEMBERS AND FRIENDS FROM SENSEI CAMPOS, ZDK DIRECTOR:

Saturday Dec. 14 marks an historic event in the 55 years since I began instructing martial arts in Fulton County and Johnstown, NY. I am extremely pleased to announce not only the promotion of Mr. Chris Fenton to Shodan but to congratulate him on officially becoming just the third director of the Hombu Dojo of the ZDK. Mr. Fenton has been fully invested and dedicated, not only to his own training, but to continuing the level of training and high technical standards for all of our Johnstown members.

Congratulations are also extended to Ms. Rachel Bailey on her advancement to the rank of Sandan. She has been a great asset to Mr. Fenton in Johnstown as he worked to achieve his goals.

As the founder of the ZDK-USA I am proud of the team effort that has made this day possible. It’s inspiring to see so many people give up their time to help others succeed. Thank you to all of the Uke’s and Black Belts who have participated in the process.

Special recognition extends to Mr. Brian Cox, Chief Instructor of the Cherry Valley, NY ZDK for his extraordinary sacrifice and dedication to assisting both candidates and all the Johnstown students over the past couple of years. His willingness to travel, assist, guide, and instruct has been invaluable to their journey in the martial arts.

I am privileged to have the support of such a large group of dedicated martial artists who share the values and goals of the ZDK. Thank you!

Mr. Cox presented a class in Atemi: Striking for effect, at Super Summers Seminar on Sunday, hosted by Herkimer Bailey's Karate. It was an excellent day, sharing and learning with like minded martial artists.

At Super Summers Seminars, Mr. Cox presented Aikido, Finding Harmony with the Floor. Mr. Cox is a 2nd degree Black Belt in Aikido and a 6th degree Black Belt in The Zen Do Kai.
