The First Friday Open Mic & Exhibit of Historic Cherry Valley Photographs is coming up this week.
Join us for an evening of community and creative expression, time immemorial!

This month our exhibit will be “Saved by Alta and Elmer: Historic Photographs Found in Cherry Valley.”

Exhibition Opening Party at 5pm, Open Mic starts at 6pm.
The exhibit will be up for the month of September, thanks to the generosity of the Cherry Valley Museum. Thanks to Andy Baugnet for his work to restore the 1890s images.

We will have prints displayed as well as a slideshow of images not yet seen by the public.

The Open Mic will start at 6pm. Please sign up at the door to perform.
Donations graciously accepted.

This event coincides with Cherry Valley First Fridays, an evening of gallery openings, music, food and fun throughout the village.

This event is partially funded by a Community Events grant from the Otsego County Board of Representatives.

We're happy to share that we're partnering with local artist Sophie Holmes to present an Open Studio of their work this coming Friday, 8/28, at The Mill in Van Hornesville. Not to be missed!

A message from the artist:

My name is Sophie Holmes, she/her, I am a q***r trans woman and interdisciplinary artist recently relocated (back) to the area. You are invited to come and gather at The Mill in Van Hornesville as I host a small viewing of some of my artistic work and play! My work/play surrounds dance, music, performance, and somatic practices woven into sculptural forms. I am very lucky to be able to work for the week at The Mill via the Van Hornesville Community Corp and explore the space as a studio for art and people. As such it felt right to OPEN the STUDIO up for others to experience the space and how (my) art/life might exist therein.

Opening is from 5-8 PM and will be a glimpse into what the week was like and include some works from the last 6+ years of creating. Lite snacks and beverages are available, please stop by as you feel and wander in! +all ages welcome+
