California Lightweight Rowing Fiat Lux: Let There Be Light(s) The Cal Lights welcome rowers of all skill levels and anyone interested in competitive rowing is encouraged to contact the team.

Since its founding in 1970 California Lightweight Crew has represented the University of California Berkeley in lightweight rowing across the country. In the last five years alone the Cal Lights can claim fourteen WIRA championships, two first place finishes at Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta, and three victories at San Diego Crew Classic.

If you've been at the dorms or on Sproul the last few days, you may have seen our flyers marking the start of our recruiting season.

We are looking for (no experience necessary) athletes of any weight to row, and shorter and confident people to lead our boats as coxwains.

We will be around campus in the coming weeks, including at CalTopia and on Sproul, but also feel free to fill out our interest form or dm us for more info.

This past Friday, Cal Lights was lucky enough to host our end of the year banquet. We celebrated our achievements this season, including record numbers of recruitment, non-profit establishment, financial independence, and another gold at WIRA. We recognized the incredible work of our coaches and exec team this year, and exceptional performances from athletes. 🏆
