June is National Healthy Homes Month — an opportunity to educate, raise awareness, motivate action, and build networks and partnerships in support of healthier home environments for everyone.

When abuse and violence are present, a home isn't healthy for the people who live there. 💜 Ending domestic violence will help create safer, healthier homes in our communities.

If someone yells, threatens, or hits you, it’s not “because they couldn’t help it”—it’s a choice. 😔

Trauma, stress, or how someone was raised can influence what they believe about relationships, but it doesn’t cause abuse. Abusive behavior is about power and control, and it continues when the person refuses to take real responsibility.

That’s why accountability matters—and why early red flags (like jealousy framed as love, constant blame, intimidation, or walking on eggshells) shouldn’t be brushed off as “just a bad day.” Real change starts only when the abuser owns their behavior and gets serious help—without excuses.

What’s a red flag you wish more people took seriously? Share in the comments so someone else might spot it sooner. 🟣📣

If you’ve ever wondered, “Why can’t I just leave?”—you’re not alone. 💜

Trauma bonding happens when someone hurts you, then pulls you back in with apologies, affection, or “good days.” That back-and-forth isn’t love or weakness—it’s your brain and body reacting to a cycle that’s designed to keep you attached.

Intermittent kindness, gaslighting, and the emotional highs and lows can create a powerful chemical pull, making the relationship feel confusing, addictive, and hard to walk away from. 🧠

Breaking that bond starts with naming the pattern, creating distance (even small steps count), and getting support so you can reconnect with yourself and what you know is true. 🌿

Have you ever looked back and realized you were attached to the hope of who they could be—not the reality of what they did?
