Only buck shot on the farm this year !

But that sure isn’t cause we ain’t got em😊.. future is bright! Lots of great bucks passed and couple em we really made us scratch our heads ! The plan is working and based off this years trail cams pics.. the bucks grew WAY better racks than the previous 5 years ! We may share some trail cam pics from the fall at some point … for now.. it’s time to get ready to burn 🔥 the west side of the farm and chase them 🦃!

Food plots !!

It’s been about 28-30 days since we’ve had any rainfall in north west Alabama. Not a drop this month ! We planted our plots in September… half of them got Helene and Francine rain, the other half only got Helene rain (which wasn’t much). They actually look pretty good .. but we need some rain soon 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Clear cut 5 acres out of a huge hardwood/ pine bottom and transformed it.

Clear cut it ✅ Pulled out all the stumps ✅ Left 2 acres of native grasses to grow ✅ Planted 3 acre of winter plots about 3 weeks ago ✅

The native grasses are about 4-5 ft tall and provides great bedding, and like a security shelter “soft edge” for the deer and great nesting habitat for turkeys !

This is just one of many spots transformed we’ll be sharing ! Turning this farm into a wildlife paradise 🦌🦃🐇🐝🦆🐢🐸

I know we haven’t updated in a while , but here’s some things going on :

- We just put in a fishing pond ! 🎣 🐟
- Fine tuning the roads and just added about 20 more loads of rock !
- Last weeks rain really perked up the natural vegetation growing 🌳

Next up- pole barn and fall planting soon!

Rock creek buck down for Drake last week ! This buck came thru with a severe limp and obvious he had a pretty nasty wound. This was a new deer we had never seen and we were fortunate enough to be in the right place to take him out. Will post a reel shortly of the wound ! These animals are tough !
