Professional Wild Horse Racers Association The Wild Horse Race was one of the three original events in rodeo during the late 1800's. The finish is approximately 30 - 35 feet long.

A Wild Horse Race team consists of three people, positions are known as shankman, mugger and rider, and none of the positions are any easier than the other. The whistle is blown, the chute gates are opened and the spectators do not know which way to look. Amongst all the chaos, the shankman holds the horse in a position so that the mugger can move up the shank and grab the horse by the halter. The

next moment, the rider sets the saddle on the horse and secures it by the quick cinch. This cinch has a quick release built in so that it may be quickly removed if a problem occurs. The rider climbs aboard the horse and stays on the horse until it crosses a pre-designated finish line. Most arena races have an imaginary line between the fence and a barrel.

Reminder: One check is being sent to the team Captains and W9 is still needed. If the team captain wants checks sent to each team member, please let the office know and provide accurate mailing addresses.

Please text information into the office for team entries and memberships/day permits.

Good morning Cowboys, below is the line up for Winnemucca. Please note all go round permits will go through the office. They must go on the PWHRA website https://www.pwhra.com/membership/
fill out the membership form and on the drop-down click Day/Go Permit and submit. After this is done they will need to TEXT Sandy with your card information and it will then be processed and a receipt will be sent to the phone number on the permit application.

Zip code of billing address of the card
Name on Card

If you need another one for a second go during the rodeo you only need to text with card information and who it is for again - the card will process and a receipt will be sent so you the contestant can show the receipt to the judge. Only need one membership form per rodeo filled out.

Also if you have filled out membership forms and are ready to pay please text Sandy to let her know and get her the appropriate credit/debit information so a receipt can be sent to you. Please do not wait until the very last minute!
