In this workshop, we shift the focus from flexibility to composure. Designed for those who love a mental and physical challenge, “The Poker Face” uses a vigorous flow to test the nervous system. The goal is to maintain a steady breath and a neutral expression even when the poses get demanding. We will explore long-hold balances and geometric drills that require intense concentration, training the mind to remain calm under pressure.

Week 3. Solar Plexus Chakra.

Over the next 7 weeks, we are working through the chakras. These are the energy centers in the body that influence how we feel, move, and show up both physically and mentally.

This is your power center.

The solar plexus chakra is where confidence, discipline, and direction come from. It is how you show up, make decisions, and follow through on what you say you are going to do.

This chakra resonates with the musical note E.

This week is about ownership.

Trust yourself.
Move with purpose.
Stop second guessing every step.

You do not need to be louder.
You just need to be clearer.

Try this in your practice:
Plank
Boat pose
Chair pose
Warrior III
Controlled core work

Affirm:
I trust myself.
I am strong.
I follow through.

Your power is not something you earn.
It is something you decide to step into.

Week 2. Sacral Chakra.

This is where you start to feel.

The sacral chakra is your center of emotion, creativity, pleasure, and expression. It is connected to your hips, your movement, and your ability to let things flow instead of holding everything in.

This chakra resonates with the musical note D.

This week is about allowing.

Let yourself feel what comes up.
Let your body move without overthinking it.
Let things be a little less controlled.

You do not need to force anything.
You just need to stop gripping so tightly.

Try this in your practice:
Low lunge
Goddess pose
Pigeon pose
Wide leg forward fold
Hip circles

Affirm:
I allow myself to feel.
I am open to joy.
I move with ease.

Your strength is not just in control.
It is in your ability to feel and keep going.

✨ I don’t say “namaste” at the end of class
→ I say “Om shanti shanti shanti — peace, peace, peace”

✨ I don’t use the word “modifications”
→ I say variations — because your body isn’t something to “fix”

✨ I don’t follow a vegan or vegetarian diet
→ I did for a long time, but it doesn’t support my body in this season

✨ I don’t do handstands or headstands
→ I don’t like how they feel… so I don’t do them

✨ I don’t teach in Sanskrit
→ I’ll sprinkle it in, but English makes it more accessible for everyone

✨ I don’t plan my classes pose-for-pose
→ I ask what you need and build from there

Your practice doesn’t have to look a certain way.
It just has to feel right in your body. 🖤

Practice with intention.

Over the next 7 weeks, we are working through the chakras. These are the energy centers in the body that influence how we feel, move, and show up both physically and mentally.

For my own personal growth, I’m going to be re-reading “Eastern Body, Western Mind: Psychology and the Chakra System As a Path to Self” by Anodea Judith. I’ll be reading the chapters corresponding with the chakra I post each week.

Week 1. Root Chakra.

This is your foundation. Your sense of safety, stability, and strength. When your root is solid, everything else has something to build on.

This chakra resonates with the musical note C.

This week is about grounding.

Slow your movements down.
Feel your feet connect to the ground.
Build strength with purpose.

Try this in your practice:
Squats
Malasana
Mountain pose
Warrior I
Glute bridges

Affirm:
I am safe.
I am supported.
I am grounded.
