Dear Pilots,
Registration for the 2025 Ozone Chelan Open is open!
Due to the growing popularity of the event, we’re implementing a lottery system this year to ensure fairness and to remove the “rock concert” style registration rush we’ve seen in the past.
Entry Requirements:
To participate in the Ozone Chelan Open, you must meet one of the following requirements:
Hold a P4 rating (or foreign equivalent).
Or be an exceptional P3 pilot with a recommendation from your instructor and have XC and SIV experience.
Here’s how the registration process will work:
Lottery Registration Opens Now: Pilots can register for the event starting today.
Lottery Order Announcement: The lottery order will be drawn and announced on February 4, 2025.
Available Spots: Of the 130 total spots, here’s how they will be allocated:
33 spots (25%) reserved for international pilots, as required by FAI sanctioning rules, until 60 days prior to the event.
17 spots reserved for mentors and wild cards.
The remaining 80 spots will be offered to the top 80 pilots on the lottery list.
Payment Process:
Pilots offered a spot in the event will have one week to submit their payment.
If payment is not received within this timeframe, the spot will be offered to the next pilot on the lottery list.
Any unclaimed international spots will be offered to U.S.-based pilots on the lottery list starting 60 days prior to the event.
Late Registrations:
Pilots registering after the Lottery on February 4, 2025, will be added to the bottom of the lottery list in the order their registration is received.
