Dangerous Animal Survives Late Rally to Take Game 1 of Summer League Finals

Dangerous Animal opened the 2026 Summer League Finals with a thrilling 6-5 victory over the Alaskan Snow Fairies on Tuesday night, overcoming a furious third-period comeback to take a 1-0 lead in the championship series. The game was played August 25 at 9:45 p.m. EDT.

Dangerous Animal jumped out to a commanding early lead, scoring twice in the opening period. Austin Janiga got the scoring started with an unassisted goal with just 55 seconds remaining in the first period, before Collin Harrington doubled the advantage with 4:03 left. Dangerous Animal carried a 2-0 lead into the first intermission despite the Snow Fairies holding a 13-14 edge in shots.

The second period turned into a high-scoring affair as both teams found the back of the net four times.

Joseph Osika extended Dangerous Animal's lead to 3-0 at 11:07, with assists from Eric Barbera and Matthew Goodyear. The Snow Fairies finally broke through when Edwin Figueroa scored at 10:09, assisted by Jeffrey Smith and Garrett Jacobs.

Harrington answered for Dangerous Animal just over a minute later, scoring an unassisted goal at 9:07 to restore the three-goal advantage. Michael Richbart then put the Snow Fairies back on the board at 5:48, scoring on the power play with assists from Dan Feldman and Garrett Jacobs.

Dangerous Animal appeared firmly in control when Barbera scored a power-play goal at 2:08, assisted by Osika, sending the game to the second intermission with the visitors ahead 5-2.
The third period, however, belonged almost entirely to Richbart and the Snow Fairies.

Harrington completed his hat trick with a power-play goal at 17:03, pushing Dangerous Animal's lead to 6-2. But the Snow Fairies refused to go quietly. Richbart scored at 16:01, then struck again at 13:48 to bring Alaskan within two goals.

With the momentum completely shifted, Richbart completed a remarkable four-goal performance by scoring another power-play goal at 4:13. Dan Feldman assisted on the play, and suddenly the Snow Fairies were within one at 6-5.

Despite the late pressure, Dangerous Animal managed to withstand the comeback attempt and preserve the one-goal victory.
The final statistics reflected just how competitive the contest was. Dangerous Animal held a narrow 39-42 disadvantage in shots, meaning the Snow Fairies generated three more shots on goal over the course of the game. The teams combined for 81 shots and 11 goals in an entertaining opening game of the championship series.
Harrington led Dangerous Animal with three goals, while Richbart almost single-handedly brought the Snow Fairies back with four goals of his own. The Snow Fairies also received goals from Figueroa, while Janiga, Osika and Barbera joined Harrington on the scoresheet for Dangerous Animal.

The game also featured an intense and physical third period, with numerous penalties recorded, including multiple roughing and major penalties during a lengthy sequence at 6:21. Both teams battled through a physical finish before Dangerous Animal ultimately closed out the 6-5 victory.

With Game 1 now in the books, Dangerous Animal takes a 1-0 series lead. The Snow Fairies will have to regroup quickly after coming within one goal of completing an incredible comeback, while Dangerous Animal will look to build on its early-series advantage.

If Game 1 is any indication, the 2026 Summer League Finals could be a championship series filled with high-scoring drama and plenty of intensity.

Dangerous Animal Edges Chiefs in 2026 Summer Semifinal Thriller

Dangerous Animal punched its ticket to the championship game Thursday night, holding off the Chiefs 3–2 in a tightly contested 2026 Summer Semifinal playoff matchup at Holiday & Leisure Rinks.

The semifinal, listed as Game #99 of the Labatt Adult Hockey League Summer 2026 schedule, featured momentum swings throughout the night, with neither team able to establish more than a one-goal advantage.

Dangerous Animal struck first at 6:48 of the opening period, when Joseph Osika scored with an assist from Eric Barbera. The Chiefs answered just over a minute later, as Reed Lasker found the net at 5:39, sending the game into the first intermission tied 1–1.

The Chiefs came out strong in the second period and took their first lead of the night when Noah Machlowski scored at 9:24, assisted by Justin Zulewski. Dangerous Animal, however, responded late in the period. Osika scored his second goal of the game with just 1:21 remaining, again assisted by Barbera, tying the contest at 2–2 heading into the third.

The final period belonged to Dangerous Animal.

After a scoreless opening stretch, Eric Barbera delivered the decisive goal at 8:55 of the third period, converting a pass from Matthew Goodyear to put Dangerous Animal ahead 3–2.

The Chiefs had opportunities to respond, but Dangerous Animal's defense held firm through the remainder of the contest. The game became increasingly physical as the clock wound down, with multiple roughing penalties assessed during the closing minutes.

The Chiefs finished with a 30–28 advantage in shots, demonstrating just how close the semifinal battle was. Dangerous Animal, however, made its chances count, getting three goals on 28 shots while limiting the Chiefs to two goals.

Osika led the way offensively for Dangerous Animal with two goals, while Barbera contributed a goal and two assists, playing a role in all three of his team's goals. For the Chiefs, Lasker and Machlowski each scored once.

With the final horn, Dangerous Animal had secured a hard-fought 3–2 semifinal victory and a berth in the 2026 Summer championship game. The Chiefs' season came to an end despite a strong offensive effort and a late push, while Dangerous Animal advanced after surviving one of the tournament's closest contests.

Alaskan Snow Fairies Rally for 8–7 Overtime Win in Semifinal Thriller

The Alaskan Snow Fairies survived a wild, back-and-forth semifinal against the Gamecocks, scoring a dramatic overtime winner to claim an 8–7 victory on Aug. 19, 2026. The Snow Fairies and Gamecocks combined for 15 goals in a game that featured multiple lead changes, a furious third period and 91 total shots.

The Snow Fairies came out firing in the opening period, building a 3–1 advantage. Michael Richbart opened the scoring at 10:47, with assists from Dan Feldman and Garrett Jacobs. James Budzinski then added an unassisted goal at 2:18 before Dylan Klodzinski extended the lead to 3–0 with 45 seconds remaining, assisted by Richbart. The Gamecocks answered just three seconds before the period ended when Taylor Setlock scored, assisted by Jonathan Hunt and Kevin Tkatschof.

The second period turned into an offensive showcase. The Gamecocks struck first when Tkatschof scored at 11:38, but Klodzinski answered for the Snow Fairies at 10:49. Jeffrey Ellsworth pulled the Gamecocks within one at 4:58, only for Feldman to score twice in a span of just 14 seconds at 4:33 and 4:19, restoring a three-goal Snow Fairies advantage.

The Gamecocks refused to go away. Tkatschof scored his second of the period at 2:47, leaving the Snow Fairies with a 6–4 lead heading into the third. Klodzinski finished the period with two goals, while Feldman added two of his own.

The third period belonged to the Gamecocks as they mounted their comeback. Thomas Leiser scored at 15:24 to make it 6–5, and Christopher Schlegel answered for the Snow Fairies at 14:13. But Steven Lachina scored at 6:49 and Jonathan Hunt followed at 2:49 to pull the Gamecocks even at 7–7.

Neither team could find the winning goal during regulation, sending the semifinal to a 10-minute overtime period.

That is where Feldman delivered the decisive moment.

At 5:50 of overtime, Feldman scored his third goal of the game, with Richbart picking up the assist, giving the Alaskan Snow Fairies an 8–7 victory and sending them through after an unforgettable semifinal battle.

Feldman finished with a hat trick, scoring twice in the second period before burying the overtime winner. Klodzinski also had a two-goal performance, while Richbart contributed a goal and two assists. Budzinski and Schlegel each added a goal for the Snow Fairies.

The Gamecocks were led offensively by Tkatschof, who scored twice, while Setlock, Ellsworth, Leiser, Lachina and Hunt each scored once.

The Gamecocks actually held the overall advantage in shots, 50–41, including an 18–7 edge in the third period. The Snow Fairies controlled the opening period in shots, 20–13, before the Gamecocks responded with a 17–10 advantage in the second. The teams traded chances in overtime, with the Snow Fairies holding a 4–2 edge.

In the end, however, it was the Snow Fairies who made the most of their final opportunity. Feldman's overtime goal capped a three-goal night and gave Alaskan Snow Fairies an 8–7 semifinal victory in one of the most dramatic games of the summer season.

Alaskan Snow Fairies Rally Past Basco Blueliners, 4–1

The Alaskan Snow Fairies scored three unanswered goals to defeat the Basco Blueliners 4–1 on Wednesday night in Labatt Adult Hockey League action.

The Snow Fairies opened the scoring early in the first period when Dylan Parsons found the back of the net at the 3:50 mark. James Budzinski and Dave Lukacz each picked up assists on the play, giving the visitors an early 1–0 advantage.

The Blueliners had a chance to respond after coincidental roughing penalties to Jeffrey Smith and Charles Helenbrook midway through the opening period, but the score remained unchanged through the first intermission.

Parsons struck again midway through the second period with an unassisted goal at 8:06, extending the Snow Fairies' lead to 2–0. Basco continued to battle despite being outshot 13–6 through two periods.

The Blueliners generated some momentum early in the third when Alexander Hartman scored at the 10:40 mark off a setup from Derek Clark, cutting the deficit to 2–1. However, the comeback hopes were short-lived.

Just over three minutes later, Garrett Jacobs restored the two-goal cushion for the Snow Fairies with Dan Feldman earning the assist. Parsons then completed a hat trick with an unassisted empty-net style insurance marker at 17:33 to seal the 4–1 victory.

Parsons was the clear offensive star of the night, recording all three of his team's first three goals and finishing with a hat trick. Budzinski and Lukacz each contributed an assist on the game's opening goal, while Feldman added a helper on Jacobs' third-period tally.

The Snow Fairies controlled play throughout the contest, finishing with a commanding 30–16 advantage in shots on goal. Basco's lone goal from Hartman briefly made the game competitive, but the Snow Fairies' depth and sustained offensive pressure proved too much to overcome.

The game also featured several penalties, including matching roughing minors in the first period, a tripping penalty against Basco's Charles Helenbrook in the second, and a 10-minute game misconduct assessed to Jeffrey Smith late in the third period as the Snow Fairies closed out the win.
