Some final league hardware to hand out:

2026 season MVP - Matt Ormsby, Chazy Orchards
Matt Ormsby led an Orchards defense that only got scored on 3 times over the 8 game season, which as far as our records show is an all time record low in the NCSL’s 53 year history. Ormsby was also only on the field for one of those three goals against. His presence was dominant, leaving opposing forwards wondering for the 23rd year in a row how they can’t get by a guy who’s been in the league for longer than they’ve been alive.
Ormsby also won his 15th, and is now tied with Jimmy Guay for the most of all time, NCSL cup. Ormsby has appeared in the NCSL championship game an astounding 18 of his 23 seasons in the league with 5 different teams.

2026 Playoff MVP - Craig Botten
Botten scored the NCSL cup clinching goal, he also added another goal in the championship game and dominated the Generals midfielders for Orchards in the semi final game as well, leading the Orchards to their 4th straight title.

Your 2026 NCSL Champions are Chazy Orchards!

In a hard fought game with NUTS FC the Orchards squad eventually broke through, getting multiple goals from Craig Botten, Tristan Laundree, and Dylan McAfee. Isaac Merril had 4 assists and Kyle Gilbert picked up the shutout win in net. This marks the Orchards 4th title in a row and 6th in 7 years, placing them in rare NCSL territory.

The final is tonight, and the storylines write themselves:
- The NUTS are lead by team captain Noah Lederman and leading goal scorer Nate Boule, both of whom broke into the league with Chazy Orchards helping them to win the clubs first title 6 years ago.
- Matt Ormsby is chasing his 15th NCSL title, which if won he would have the most of any single player in the leagues 52 year history.
- If the Nuts win tonight they can cement themselves as the next best team of this decade behind Orchards, this is the Nuts 3rd final appearance since 2020, the most of any other team, both of the other 2 times they lost to this same Orchards squad.
- If Orchards win they will collect their 6th title in 7 years, which only one other team has accomplished (Giroux’s 85-91’), putting them in the conversation of best NCSL team of all time.

Our Championship game is set!

Date: Friday, August 7th, 7:45pm kickoff
Location: Plattsburgh State Fieldhouse

If you’re looking for after dinner plans on Friday night come out to the fieldhouse to watch some entertaining soccer. This years favorites, Chazy Orchards will be taking on the NUTS FC team that has already taken down two higher seeded teams on their Cinderella playoff run, a true David vs Goliath matchup. With both teams featuring kids about to head off for their college seasons this fall it’s sure to be a good one!

Tonight’s semi final result:

Chazy Orchards 5 - The Generals 2

Orchards got goals from Chris Matott, Riley Hansen, Tristan Laundree and Mason Brown x2. The Generals did manage to score the most goals on the orchards in a single game this year with Peter Wylie and Carter Garceau each tallying one. Kyle Gilbert picked up the win in net with a couple big point blank saves while Parker Manor made over 20 saves for the Generals.

Chazy Orchards will move on to play Nuts in the Championship game on Friday night!
