From the Canandaigua Yacht Vlub.

There’s a new fleet (118) at Canandaigua YC in NY. In late summer 2023, I bought boat 2754 and kept it on the waterfront to practice. In 2024, I fixed up boats 2440 and 1418 and brought them from Florida to C*C. My brother took over 2440 and I loaned out 1418 to friends for racing in the club Wednesday night GO Fleet handicap racing. Last year, I brought 2073 from Florida and my brother used it all summer as he took 2440 to Keuka YC. Again, we had 3 boats racing in GO. This year, I fixed up 1386 and I brought that and my 2784 up from Florida. I sold 1418, 2073 and 1386 to C*C members. Another member sourced 2433 from New Orleans which gave us 6 boats and 6 owners. I recently picked up Johnson 1751 which is at C*C. I have 2072 and 1008 in Florida waiting to come up next Spring. There are many more C*C members interested. Confusing? Yes, but that’s all part of building a fleet. The MC is an easy sell once people see them burn up the race course ahead of most other classes.

We had an amazing weekend sailing regardless of the ominous forecast. Three races. Great competition and a lot of fun. Thank you to the folks that came out to crew and all the participants.
