Missionary Ridge Road Race

Missionary Ridge Road Race Scenic 4.7 mile road race along Missionary Ridge! A Chattanooga classic since 1973! Saturday, August 5th 2023 at 8:00 a.m. This was his favorite race each year.

will be the 50th running of the Missionary Ridge Road Race! Parking and Shuttle Instructions:
There is NO PARKING at Bragg Reservation. Parking and a free shuttle service will be available at McCallie School, 500 Dodds Avenue. The shuttle service will operate from 6:00 AM until the conclusion of the event. Course Information:
This is a 4.7 mile out and back course atop Missionary Ridge. It start

s at the Bragg Reservation and goes out South Crest Road, extends around East Crest Road and then returns on South Crest Road to the finish line at Bragg Reservation. Trees shade the scenic course and there are two good hills with the rest of the course gently rolling. Awards Information:
Cash awards for the top 3 overall male and female ($100, $60, 30)
Awards for overall male and female masters; male and female grand masters, male and female senior grand masters and top three male and female by age groups: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & better. A special award will be presented to the oldest participant in the race in honor of Arnold Godwin, a long time runner in the Chattanooga area.

I only took one photo this morning but this sums up the morning! This is Sergio’s grandson who won one of the door prizes, a straw hat donated by Ryan Shrum, past race director. Sergio is 85 and has passed his love for running down to his son and grandkids! Running is an activity that anyone of any age can do!
