Baylor Middle School Softball Bats Come Alive
The Baylor Middle School bats came alive Tuesday as the Raiders defeated Silverdale, 11-4. The game was called in the bottom of the fifth inning due to the time limit with Baylor’s bases loaded and no outs.
Emmons Pollard led the offensive attack, going 3-for-3 with three doubles and an RBI. Maddy Holbrook delivered a big hit, clearing the bases with a double and driving in three runs. Ceriah Thomas added two hits, a stolen base and an RBI, while Chuck Thurman contributed two hits and an RBI.
Callia Patterson earned the win in the circle, going the distance and striking out eight.
The Raiders also had a strong Friday, sweeping Grace in a doubleheader, 11-0 and 15-2. Tansy Burgin picked up both victories and had a day to remember at the plate, going a perfect 5-for-5 with a triple and six RBIs.
Charley Grace Tate added three hits, including two doubles, and drove in six runs. Charlotte Tugman three hits, including an inside-the-park home run, and four RBIs. Liv Thompson also collected three hits, including a triple, and drove in two runs.
Baylor will return to action Wednesday at Boyd with first pitch scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
