Dear Stuart Heights Members,
As we hit the peak of our summer season, we want to ensure the pool remains a safe, fun, and welcoming environment for every family. Please take a few moments to review these important guidelines and upcoming schedule changes.
1. Child Behavior
Our lifeguards have a critical job to do: keeping their eyes on the water.
• Parents, please talk to your children about proper behavior at the pool. Bullying smaller kids, foul language and roughhousing needs to STOP, now!
• Remind them that the lifeguards are not to be distracted or bothered while they are on duty. Our female guards DO NOT appreciate what some may call extra attention or harmless flirting, but they call borderline harassment.
• Stuffing whole rolls of toilet paper down the toilet costs us a visit from the plumber, at $150 each time. This has happened twice so far this year and it completely avoidable.
2. Family-Friendly Atmosphere
Stuart Heights is a family pool, and we take pride in providing a wholesome environment for all ages. We expect all members to model good behavior. Please act like adults and respect the space as a family-friendly facility, not a local bar.
3. Understanding Our Pool Classification
Per state regulations, Stuart Heights operates as a Type 2 pool. This means that having lifeguards on duty is a courtesy we provide, not a legal requirement. Ultimately, safety and supervision are a shared responsibility, and parents must keep a close eye on their own children. Speaking of lifeguards: Here’s their schedule, 40 min in the stand, 20 min break, then 40 min in the concessions; then they rotate. If they don’t have anything to do, yes they can sit in front of the concessions.
4. Helping Us Maintain the Facilities
If you notice something that needs immediate attention—such as restrooms requiring restocking or cleaning—please notify a lifeguard right away. Our team is happy to address it, but we rely on your eyes to help us catch issues quickly.
5. Upcoming Delayed Opening (July 29)
We are excited to announce that we are installing a brand-new shade structure! To allow the installation team to work safely, the pool will open late on Wednesday, July 29. We should open at 6pm that evening.
6. Pool Parties
We have now sold out of our Sunday Pool Parties. Next year we will have the capability to schedule and pay online in the same first come first served policy as years past, but you don’t have to schedule and purchase on Opening Day.
7. Adults only night
Sunday July 26th from 6-9pm we will have another Adults Only Night at the pool.
Get Involved: Board Opportunities
We are always looking for passionate members to help guide the future of our community. If you have an interest in joining the board and contributing to the management of our club, please reach out to us at [email protected].
Thank you for your cooperation, your respect for our staff, and your help in keeping Stuart Heights Pool safe and enjoyable for everyone!
Best regards,
The Stuart Heights Board
