A couple more VISS sights almost done. Both will be installed on quick detach picatinny rail systems. This system allows the visually impaired shooter and the sighted spotter to utilize the same firearm or crossbow. Simply sight in the VISS and the sighted shooter’s optic, record which address (“notch”) each were sighted in at, interchange the quick disconnects holding the optics and shoot the same rifle/crossbow/shotgun on the same hunt/lane.

*VISS Tip: Once the visually impaired marksman/woman is sighted in and holding good groups, build some confidence by putting out steel targets. The audible confirmation of a good hit for the impaired shooter is exhilarating for everyone. Besides, who doesn’t enjoy shooting steel??

Out of all the VISS sights we’ve made so far for people (even with the roughly 90% of which have gone to combat wounded veterans and veterans), this VISS project probably means the most. I’m not sure if it’s her young age (6-yrs old), her toughness or incredible zest for life. This little girl’s resilience defines “adapt and overcome with a smile”. Hats off to some amazing parents for helping pass a heritage of shooting down to their visually impaired little girl. This little girl will go on to do some amazing things in life.

Many thanks to everyone who helped put together our pink .22 Kentucky rifle package. With the help from Massie Manufacturing (Baraga, MI), Peninsula Powder Coating (Baraga, MI), Lake Superior Design (L’Anse, MI), Orrin A. Sprague Agency (Cadillac, MI) and Woodland Fi****ms (Baraga, MI), we were able to help parents provide a tough little 6-year old Kentucky girl a great Christmas. The entire package included a pink Savage .22 cal Rascal rifle sighted in with a pink French VISS topped with a Bushnell 3-9x40 scope, Caldwell Deadshot tripod, hard-sided gun case, .22 cal steel cow-bell target, 325 rounds of .22 cal ammunition and a pink Upper Penninsula of Michigan stocking cap (“chuuk”). This ranks up there as the highlight of our 2018 Christmas Season. Looking forward to watching this courageous little girl and her family make some incredible memories shooting and hunting in the great outdoors! Thanks everyone!!!

The MA French Foundation is proud to display our first pink French VISS. It’s mounted on a Savage Rascal .22 cal rifle. This was an absolute thrilling project. It will be heading to the cutest little 6 yr old girl in the great state of Kentucky. Her cuteness is complimented only by her courage and toughness. Without ruining the surprise, this VISS comes with a few “extras”. More to come...
