Today we take on the Hero WOD, Murph. Originally called โBody Armor,โ this workout honors Lieutenant Michael P. Murphy โ a man who wanted nothing more than to serve his country and protect the people he loved. On June 28, 2005, Michael Murphy gave his life in Afghanistan during Operation Red Wings. Today, we honor him and all the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our freedom.
Today, we get to do this workout. We choose to be here. We choose to push ourselves. And that matters.
Look around you โ these are the people youโll stand beside through every mile, every rep, every moment where your body says stop but your mind keeps going. Some of you are taking this on for the first time. Some are doing it with a partner. Some are going solo. No matter how you tackle Murph today, you are part of something bigger than yourself.
When this workout gets heavy โ and it will โ remember why we do it. Not for a score. Not for the leaderboard. But for remembrance, gratitude, and respect.
So encourage each other. Stay together. Dig deep. And give this workout everything you have.
Have fun today, honor the sacrifice, and letโs earn this Murph together.
