🎉 The wait is over. Our Berkmar soft opening schedule is officially here!

We’re opening our brand-new indoor facility gradually throughout September, giving our team time to settle into our new home while providing the exceptional swim experience your family expects. As we hit our stride, we’ll be adding even more classes throughout October.

Here’s a sneak peek at what’s coming:

At our new Berkmar indoor facility, we are planning to offer Adaptive-only swim lesson times designed to create a supportive, welcoming environment for swimmers with disabilities and diverse support needs.

Swimming is an activity that everyone can enjoy and benefit from. As we build this program, we'd love your input to help us determine the days, times, and accommodations that would best serve you and your family.

This survey should take less than 3 minutes, and your responses will help us determine our initial schedule and future programming.

We hit a record for June lessons. 🙌

We have plenty of room for July lessons. We have room for new students, current students that want to book more classes, and storm make ups across all locations.

Meghan M. has slots open for bookings after school and on Saturdays at Fairview in August. Expect to see bookings at Fairview in August added for Mary Pat and Kirsten soon.

We plan to continue at Fairview all of August and will transition to Berkmar when we have a firm opening date. Stay tuned!

Our June newsletter is here. ☀️

School let out early this year, which means swim lessons got underway a little sooner than usual. We've been fortunate to enjoy some beautiful weather so far. While our gardens and lawns could certainly use some rain, we're crossing our fingers that it arrives outside of lesson times. ☀️🏊

We are so excited to announce that Maddie is trading her instructor hat for a manager hat this July. 🤩 Maddie is our first full time team member who will be leading the charge at our new, year-round facility at Berkmar.

Madeline Leckrone is excited to join Central Virginia Swim School as Operations Manager. A former collegiate swimmer at the University of Mary Washington and current coach for the University of Virginia Club Swim team, Maddie has spent years teaching and coaching swimmers of all ages, from parent-and-child lessons to competitive athletes.

Most recently, she has been working as a swim lesson instructor with CVSS, where she developed a deep appreciation for the school’s commitment to quality instruction, family relationships, and community. She is looking forward to helping grow the new indoor facility, supporting instructors, building strong connections with families, and creating an exceptional experience for every swimmer who walks through the doors.

Some of the strongest connections are built in the water. 💙☀️

Swimming skills are important, but so are the relationships that help children gain the confidence to learn them. Our instructors invest in every swimmer who comes through our program, creating trust, celebrating progress, and making lessons something students look forward to each week.

We think our instructors are pretty awesome—and our swimmers seem to agree. 🏊💦
