There was a time in my corporate career that being able to take four hours off in the middle of the day to go to the doctor, haircut, personal appointment, or even better one of my kid’s field trips would have been impossible.

I made a choice almost 8 years ago to leave my full time job and focus on fitness and ultimately family.

I work really early in the morning (sometimes late at night) appearing to not stop some days, for two reasons:

⚡️ I have a found a job I really really like and it’s important for me to show my girls what I can do
⚡️ it gives me flexibility to do stuff like this

I’ve secretly (not secretly) been working on the PTA board as a treasurer this year and spending all the hours I can being present with the kids now that parents can go back to school.

✅ first trip to the on the most beautiful day

It’s been a busy ass month. Event after event after event. I know if I saw you today I knocked out a number of things that closed out a big month for both of my businesses. If you saw me March 1 I told you this month was going to be busy. Nonetheless we made it.

Finish line feels. No Sunday scaries here. I could find every excuse in the world to not show up, but I know movement makes me a better mom, increases my longevity and helps me feel good. It is no coincidence on the days I feel the most “drained” are the days I am not moving as much.

Resume normal week. I’ve got nothing to train for at this point but life.

Come see me this week to train or workout with me⚡️

You haven’t really been to the NC mountains until you see the sign that says “do not travel on this road when the lights are flashing without snow chains or four wheel drive” 😵‍💫

You can feel the love. True story, I’m an introverted extrovert. I hate being the center of attention. And I attribute most big things that happen to me as a result of support from those around me.

Truth is, I tried to downplay how special celebrating one year in this insane fitness market is (COVID and all). But I’m super proud.

We have a special place, but even more a special community. It’s cliche. Everyone says that their community is the best, but ours…

There is no drama. Truly. There is all ages. Truly. There is a lot mods day in and day out. I don’t care.

I’ve been training peeps for over seven years now. Started with 4 clients. By myself. And today we celebrate members on members. And the most incredible training staff of eight people. We celebrate the families that have grown as we have grown.

THANK YOU all. Here’s to another year.

We’ve got one final giveaway Sunday - join me at 7/8:15/9:30A for your chance to win a fit session (value $200) ⚡️

Like any small business owner or manager (I’ll lump parents in), this hasn’t been a normal January. Staff shortages, sickness, bad weather, all the things have piled on top of me leaving me feeling like I can’t swim some days.

To be clear, I manage these days because of how good I feel about where I am at. These days are the reason I am still here.

I so often hear my clients say the first thing they stop doing when they feel overwhelmed is move. They sit paralyzed by anxiety. Like when you drive with loud music on in a rainstorm it makes it hard to concentrate.

Folks - you gotta move. The sitting is killing us.

We are all exhausted. I am not immune to fatigue, but I have to make time for myself. (❤️ )

Didn’t plan on running today, but I haven’t slept past 4:30A in almost a week. Rather than hit the alarm again early tomorrow guess who is treating herself to a 6:30A alarm and a rest day Friday 🎉

Pacing the corporate cup HALF marathon in March. Who is running with me?

Tomorrow I’m celebrating one year since we soft launched - I’m still skeptical about what happened that night. I was so nervous that I ran virtual sound wrong, didn’t know where to stand and questioned everything I had done in a matter of 55 minutes. I was sure about a few things.

⚡️Not packing my car full of dumbbells to carry down a hill in the dark at a random park when it was 20 degrees out was winning.

⚡️ goals come to fruition if you write them down. I told some trainer friends of mine years before that I wanted to have a space one day. I wrote it down as 1-2 year out goal.

⚡️ nothing is ever as easy it looks.

⚡️ be a planner but be flexible. I’m super organized and controlling about stuff that’s easy, but super flex on stuff I can’t control. Hence why my space is so clean and my house is not.

⚡️ I am constantly learning. I’ve made some bad choices but some really good ones. I love feedback and growth.

⚡️ having a team is everything. Literally everything. I wouldn’t be able to be a present mom, take vacations, and/or be so engaged in other things without the best team of trainers.

Year 1 anniversary week is going down starting 1/31 with an all day celebration 2/5. Sign ups are open now.

Im kicking off my week with Monday at 7:30A by taking class 🎉 join me/us!
