We recently concluded the 2024 regular racing season with two wins at the SCCA Hoosier Super Tour weekend at Virginia International Raceway (VIR). Many thanks to crew chief Al Sauerland and Chris Smith.
Now that we're on "summer holiday," we'll not only be upgrading the car in preparation for the SCCA Nation Championship Runoffs in October, but also hopefully posting some other fun Team McLeod racing content.

Another successful weekend at Road Atlanta earlier this month, but not without challenges. Saturday yielded the team's first mechanical DNF since the major Red Devil upgrades.

While the obvious fix was easy, we found a bad wheel bearing just two hours before the Sunday race. Thanks to super effort by crew chief Hardin Byars and generous help from Leon Mitchell, Brent Altschuler and Ted Visscher, we got the bearing changed and everything buttoned up with 5 minutes to spare before the Sunday race.

Result? Podium and personal best lap time for driver Cory McLeod! With this result, Team McLeod and driver Cory move into first place in the SCCA Hoosier Tires Super Tour standings (F600 class) for the first time ever!

We'll be back in action at Virginia International Raceway (VIR) on April 6-7. Check out both Saturday and Sunday races live on the SCCA web site (scca.com).

Team McLeod started the 2024 season on January 13-14 at historic Sebring International Raceway in Florida, which was the site of the first SCCA Hoosier Super Tour event of the year. The weekend was successful, resulting in two 2nd place finishes and a personal best lap time of 2:21.01 for driver Cory McLeod.

"Thankfully the rain stayed away for most of our sessions. The car ran great and responded to changes throughout the weekend. Sebring is by far the roughest track we run, but the car survived with no serious problems. Many thanks to crew chief Brent Altschuler. Team McLeod has always been about family, so it was great to also see my Aunt Minnie and Cousin Rick in Orlando while I was there," commented Cory.

Our next race will be the SCCA Hoosier Super Tour at Road Atlanta on March 9-10, 2024.

Team McLeod is at Virginia International Raceway this week for the SCCA National Championship Runoffs.

We've had a great week with the rebodied and upgraded Red Devil. Cory beat his personal best lap time by 2.5 seconds, hit 140 mph in the speed trap and qualified 5th for the race.

Watch the F600 race live Sunday morning at 9:00 on scca.com or the Sports Car Club of America page on YouTube.

After all these years, Team McLeod is still a "family affair." Anne-Marie McLeod joined us as crew for a few days this week!

After almost two years, Team McLeod was back on track Feb 25-26 at Roebling Road Raceway. It was the debut of the team's re-purchased, rebodied and upgraded Red Devil F600 (formerly F500). Driver Cory McLeod was extremely happy with the results. "It was great to be back on track and in the Red Devil. Most of the car is essentially new, including the custom fitment of the aerodynamic body originally designed for a different chassis, so we expected some 'teething pains.' It ended up being a relatively trouble-free weekend. The car handled great. We clocked a top speed of over 133 mph, so the new Rotax 593HO engine also has great potential. I owe a big thanks to my wife, Anne-Marie, and Formula F racer Chris Smith. Their help at Roebling Road enabled us to have a successful and productive weekend."

Team McLeod will be back in action March 11-12 at Road Atlanta in the SCCA Hoosier Super Tour event. All the weekend races will be covered with live timing and video at scca.com.
